Georgia's Viper to close this month

Posted | Contributed by Robert U

Say goodbye to Six Flags Over Georgia's Viper, Sunday, September 16. The park invites all American Coaster Enthusiast members to say goodbye to Viper, "The Coaster That Strikes Twice!" with a free 2-hour VIPER-THON exclusive ride time, including night rides on the Great American Scream Machine. Participating ACE members will have the very last rides on Viper since the ride, which was originally Tidal Wave at Six Flags Great America, is being permanently removed after the ERT.

Maybe ;) We will get lucky and it will come back to SFGRAM!!!  that would be so cool!!! This was my favorite ride at Great America. I was sooo steamed when they took it out and replaced it with the batman ride, i mean they could have at least moved  the Tidal Wave somewhere else in the park, but it is on the ride share program so it will be moved  until they can't move it anymore.

My daughter BEGGED me to ride the kid coasters(blantant lie)HEHEE..lol.
Hmm, glad I rode it last year, hopefully it will remain in operation at a different park.. Send it to Carowinds and name it "White Lightnin'".. :)
What are they going to put in place of Viper?

aww white lightnin....yeap, they should send it to carowinds!
Well, I am from Florida and that's the only Schwarzkopf shuttle looper that is anywhere near me...or I think that pretty much anyone from the southeast will agree. We need that coaster. I loved Viper when Ifinally got to ride it last month after visiting the park 3 other times only to find Viper closed. I loved it. I loved the feeling of being FLUNG out of the station and then falling backwards and into the vertical loop backwards. I only got that feeling from Viper...I will always remember Viper- my first Schwarzkopf shuttle looper. It wasn't my favorite there, Cylcone has that one, but as far as anything else, it goes to Viper.

I am a part of The Florida Coaster Club, not ACE, and I don't think it's very fair that they get to be the only ones there for the final fairwell. I will be there for the day, I just wish I could be there for the final ride. FOOEY!

I wish someone could inform us on why it's going and where it is going. Maybe a Florida park will get it...yeah right...but come on, we have been getting a number of coasters in the past few years. You never know. Probably too good to be true though.

Farewell Viper!

Rob, PGA has one too.

Good-bye, Schwarzkopf.  Hello B&M.
Another gem is going to disappear. I hope (and am very doubtful) that SFGAm gets it back. I think they could wedge it in somewhere, like the edge of the park where Roarin' Rapids (or White Water Rampage, I don't remember what they currently call it) is, there was land clearing there :) But who am I kidding? That would never happen.

Is what would be nice if Six Flags donated it to the RCIYBY (Roller Coasters in your Back Yard)Fund, and put it in my back yard. I can only wish.

Hey, SFGAm management, can I buy a couple cages of Sky Whirl?

I've heard that Viper is going to VisionLand in Alabama, not too far from SFoG, but I'm not too sure of it.

Since SFoG is going to remove Viper, is it going to be sold to a different park or be destroyed?

And I get y'all that something big is in the works! **COUGH Hypercoaster COUGH**

"Duff Man Says... Ohhh Yeah!"
Current Favorite Coasters:
1)Raging Bull 2)Millennium Force 3)Medusa (SFMW) 4)Vertical Velocity (SFGAm) 5)Dueling Dragons (Ice)

Yeah, I think all signs point to a Superman themed hyper:

a)Superman merchandise started popping up all over the Viper Store (Swampwater Jack's).

b)SFoG does NOT have a rumoured 200 ft. hieght limit.

c) SFog is probaly one of the largest/oldest parks with no hyper.

d) I rode SROS @ SFDL and it kicks some serious butt (I even think SROS is slightly better than Deja Vu).

Yes, I will miss Viper.  It was almost always walk-on and one of my favorite rides there.  They closed it probably due to unpopularity with the GP (it was hard to find) and very frequent closures.

REMEMBER THE VIPER!

Give it back to SFGAm !!!! It was just on loan...it's ours...give it back !! :)

Someone seems to think a B&M will be going there.  I really don't know for sure.  I don't even know if they'll get another coaster next year.  I mean, they just got two new attractions this year, and they never get two back to back coaster years.  We'll see though!

"No listenin', you hear me?"
note to SFGAM...

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, BRING BACK THE TIDAL WAVE!!!!!!

-----------------
Just call me MPG...

You've got to start sometime.  I mean, SFMM had to build back to back coasters sometime.  Let me know if I've confused anybody.

hopes you enjoyed the Dahlonega Mine Train.

ALL SF parks sell DC Comics merchandise regardless if they have a coasters themed to one or not.  The fact that SFOG has Superman t-shirts does NOT mean a Superman coaster is coming.  However that being said knowing what SFOG is supposed to be getting the Superman theme sure does fit [and NO, it's NOT a hyper].
