Workers recently started taking down X-Flight from its Geauga Lake location along Ohio 43 near the park's front gate, said Bryan Edwards, a Geauga Lake spokesman. The ride is destined for another park owned by Cedar Fair LP, the parent company of Geauga Lake.

Jeff, can you set an age restriction on the business related threads? lol jk, im merely venting:)
Ok then Riddle me this... Why do people marathon on Dominator? Why do people run STRAIGHT for Dominator when the gate opens? Because they feel like running to a big roller coaster? NO! Dominator is a crowd favorite...
You're probably right. I think we need to remember that most people outside of the coaster enthusiast community are probably not as familiar with the different types of coasters out there, or what makes a coaster especially noteworthy - so when they see something different and unfamiliar come into a park, they consider it new and exciting. We may think X-Flight is a somewhat nondescript ride compared to other coasters out there, but to people in SW Ohio it would be a big deal. When my older brother (who is 44) rode Avatar for the first time, he thought it was the neatest thing since sliced bread. Now throw in the concept of a full-circuit coaster where you recline and feel like you are flying, and he would be incredibly impressed. But to people in the coaster enthusiast community, it seems like another humdrum ride with capacity issues.
The leaders in the industry aren't stupid, and they aren't going to locate a coaster to a park where they don't think people will ride it. Whenever PKI gets a new coaster, it is played up in the local Cincinnati news and made to sound like the latest step in the evolution of coaster design. It's a big deal to the general public who have never experienced something like it before. It would be ridden, and appreciated, by Cincinnati people (and yes, me too, because I know how much PKI needs something like this) - who are especially proud of having PKI in their backyard.
I can't help it if the people in MISSOURI like to travel and like amusement parks. Some states just have better people who understand the need for amusement parks. :)
I still say give it to Worlds of Fun. We have the room and it is not like you would have to do much infrastructure to install it since we have quite a bit of flat land you could put it on. PKI doesn't need another coaster -- especially this one considering the headaches they already have with SOB. The last thing they need at PKI right now is a capacity nightmare coaster -- they already have that with IJ:ST.
