Never mind, I don't care. :)

LOL, what I was saying was, the conversation started out with people not caring that much about the ride, and ffej/Jeff came in with a "OMG You don't care!?!" thing going on, so I went with it.

Or Maverick!;)

I'm calm. Sometimes you read things the wrong way. my bad. You can't read people very well when typed. I am sorry if I took it the wrong way. I am not trying to get people to care. if you don't care that is fine. I am just trying to clear some things up about what has been going on.

Again:

What are your credentials? Why are you representing this person, and what kind of experience do you have in being a ride broker?

C'mon, I'm asking a serious question here to shed some lite on the subject...

I do know of an excellent massage therapist... I made her website!!!11!

In all seriousness, I am curious about Tekwardo's question as well.

Tekwardo, I don't have any credentials, I am just a guy that wanted to help and many poeple had issues knowing who to contact about the ride. I put my name out there so people would feel comfortable talking to somebody about the ride. There were and are still rough feelings between enthusiasts(which I am one) and the owner of the ride. I was just making it easier to communicate. There is nothing more to me in this situation than me wanting to help.

Sorry I'm a slow typer and I didn't want to do the dreaded triple post.

He is not asking about you, as you have made so very clear that you are representing someone. He is asking about the person you are representing.

Actually, I was asking about fejj/Jeff ;). But that brings up a good point, what are the credentials of the person who purchased the ride? Did they have experience in ride brokering?

We weren't making fun of you (at least I wasn't), we were laughing because of the situation.

I was laughing at him. Or LOL'ing, to use the parlance of our times.

It wasn't that long ago that Jeff absolutely hated me. Now he just dislikes me!!lol

I don't hate anyone. You give yourself way too much credit if you think I spend any time thinking about you once your post scrolls off the page.

Jeff, I think you are starting to like me!!! We should go hang out!!

seriously, the owner's credentials are that he bought it at auction to save it. It means something to him and the plans he had for it fell apart. It really is that simple.

If he bought it to save it, why is the new price so high?

His credentials are that he has none?

You can buy it for $9500 if you place the bid on ebay and nobody else bids. I don't think that is too high. Please don't forget that the owner did have to pay for liability insurance as well over the last couple years. I know that the owner would be happy to come to any compromise with someont that would like to make a serious offer. I don't know why the prices previous were as high as they got. that was not my decision. As far as the credentials go, Please remember that there was a development plan that had not worked out. He is just trying to make the best of it.

Plans != Credentials

I have plans to run a business. That does not make me capable. I have thirty years experience in the industry. That holds more water.

All I am trying to do is inform people that there is another side to the bashing of the gentleman who purchased dipper. the owner of the coaster owns his decision to buy the ride. Now he is trying to make the best of the situation.

This is where I have a problem with this whole scenario. I don't care that he is keeping his identity a secret. That happens all the time in auctions like you said. Heck, when I purchased my home I didn't know who the owner was but bought it anyway. (I could have found out and did a background check and all that stuff but it didn't matter to me, I just wanted the house) Yes, maybe he did make a purchase of a coaster with the plans to save it, but that was three yeears ago. If the owner originally had those type of plans, then those plans obviously have changed, since it's clear that the owner is strictly trying to make a profit selling the coaster since the price on Ebay is a lot more then the news article said it was purchased for. Not that trying to make some money is wrong but you keep trying to paint the owner as the savior of the Big Dipper and the only one who is doing anything about it, when actions state the owner is strictly in this for the money. Lets call an apple an apple. If I made a spur of the moment purchase of something and later realized I got myself involved in something that I shouldn't be involved in, I would be trying to get out with what I had invested not trying to make a big profit. So my problem with all of this is that your story of the owner being a savior doesn't match what the owner is doing by trying to turn a big profit. Again if he/she was trying to just save the coaster, they would be trying to get his/her investment back or they would donate it to any organization or individual that actually might be able to save it. In other words, the owners actions are speaking louder then your words, so nobody is listening.

Best second post ever.

At the end of the day this is where we sit. The person bought the coaster and plans didn't happen correct. If he did not purchase the ride it would have been torn down relativly soon. He did give it 3 years for plans of his or somebody elses to happen. I know he would have been willing to work with anyone with a plan for the coaster. this has not happened. were all the things done correct? No. But at least some time was saved to try to figure things out.
