Geauga Lake Big Dipper "Love Thread"

I bit my lower lip as a kid on that double dip when my chin hit the lap bar. Blood splattered all over my face and my shirt! I was about 10 then, and vowed to never ride that beast again. Well, I got older, and a lot wiser, and re-rode it again in the early 80's. Still rough, but a lot more fun (and no blood that time!).

Fast Forward to 2004...GREAT COASTER! Lots of airtime and some terrific laterals on some of the slightly curved dips. John Miller was a genius and one of the best coaster designers EVER! I wish the double dip were back, especially with the new track the coaster received. But, even without it, it's one heck of a ride. Too bad the seats are too small for us heavier, middle aged guys, but hey, I can still fit, even though its a lot tighter than when I was a kid.

I don't miss the blood, but I do miss that double dip now! *** Edited 11/5/2004 1:49:41 AM UTC by Brother Dave***

Hi,

BG is one of my favorite woodies. The airtime on it is awesome and there is plenty of it.Add to that the lack of queues at Geauga Lake and the comfy leather padded bench seats its one totally enjoyable classic woodie.

Glad to see a post on it

I'm just finishing my trip report of my US 2004 trip, which i will post in a couple days.
