GCII Intern Website

I am currently interning at Great Coasters International. Evan, the other intern, and myself have created this Blog website to give everyone some insight into working at GCI as well as seeing progress on the trains for GCI's new rides. Check it out.

Blogging interns, yeah yeah yeah....check out the sweet overhead shot of Renegade.

And sorry if this had been published elsewhere, first time seeing it for me. ;)

After reading through the blog site , part of site, Evan stated that they are there to help with building of six millenium flyer trains, the most in the companys history. Does anyone think that this could mean that Hershey could possibly be getting a pair of MFtrains for wildcat, There is the rumor going around in the other thread http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forum.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=46395 for hersheys hundreath.

I am sorry i don't mean to speculate but it is a little tempting. My thoughts behind this is, that since Renegade will run two MF and Toverlands coaster will be runing two, that just leaves two more trains and where would they be going is anybody's guess, but it will be intersesting to learn more about this as time goes on.

The site is great and is very informative. Evan and adam Congratulations and good luck to you both. I wish you all the best and enjoy the internship.

John

How long does the internship last? Hopefully long enough so you get to field test a couple of your trains about an hour amd a half south of you. Have to get familiar with the company products, right? ;)
Isn't there also a rumor that they are building SOB trains as well?

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
There is, but if they're building 6 trains, I count 2 to Toverland, 2 to Valleyfair, 2 to another location.

What that other location is is up to which rumor you believe (I've heard Hershey's Wildcat, Gwazi, or SOB). I personally believe that the extra two trains are for Hershey, since both Gwazi (4) and SOB (3) run more than two trains.

IIRC, SOB has never ran 3 trains, so I guess it's still an option.

Are any of the trains you're building have an extra large chassis? ;)

Edit: It's pretty cool of GCI for letting you blog about your experience working there. It's something I never would've expected. Congrats on the job! *** Edited 1/24/2007 4:33:45 PM UTC by rOLLocOASt***

I would GUESS that Wildcat is the destination of the two *spare* trains....but Sonny is by no means "out of the question".

How often does Sonny RUN all three trains? Yeah.....so it IS still possible two of those are headed to Cincy. Seemingly unlikely at this point, but I don't think we can CONCLUDE yet that the trains are headed down Cocoa Ave. ;)

edit: Corey likes big butts....er, trains... :)
Hehe, "extra-large chassis"... ;)

I'm pretty sure Corey is right that SOB has never ran all three trains. They can't dispatch them fast enough for it to be efficient.

Interesting passage:
"We're here because six trains is the most the company has ever had to build in one season and because modifications to the drawings have pushed back assembly to the point that at least a couple trains are typically done by this point (with less help)."

Modifications to the drawings? ;) ;)

Well, the internship lasts until May, then I go back to Louisville for classes.

How did you go about getting an internship like this?
Basically, a lot of work, a lot of networking, and a lot of luck.

Nice catch, Matt. I read those words, but it didn't click. That definitely puts SOB back into the running (If you believe the rumors ;) )

Very possible that those 2 are going to SOB, and Wildcat either will wait until 2008, or *borrow* 2 trains from Lightning Racer.

^ Borrowing trains from LR, I'm guessing is very unlikely at this point. HP needs those trains for LR *enough* to warrant keeping them there.

I'm sticking with my original "Wildcat will have MFlyers by '08 opening day" statement....partly because it gives me an *out* if these two "bonus trains" DO end up going to HP... :)

Yep, with the new water park back there, HP will need four trains for LR. I doubt they're going to Gwanzi, either (since it would need four... no more rumors of BGA replacing trains again! ;)). And Roar East is out of the question (although that would be great if it ever happened).

I tend to not think SoB will get GCI trains... maybe that's where the Hurricane's G-Trains will end up? *** Edited 1/25/2007 3:13:59 PM UTC by Arson***

The G-Trains would need major mods to fit on SOB's wider guage track.
