This campaign is not terrible. I think the holy grail of advertising is finding a "Flo" (think Progressive) that is so strong and recognizable that you can use it for years or decades.

...is men simping for Flo.
I actually didn't hate the Funsultant ads.
But no one is filling their goon cave with pics of the Funsultant. (and I'm officially the first person to ever say that sentence)
I enjoyed those ads. Although I kept picturing the "Funtern" being played by Andy Samberg, which with the nationwide reach Six has, would have been cool to see someone like him in the commercial alongside the girl playing the Funsultant.

It's amazing that Progressive has nearly done the same thing with the Dr. Rick ads. I notice them more than the Flo ads and that may just be because I relate to them so much as I get older.
The Funsultant ads are good. Beats the hell out of the dancing old guy. I've notice that the sports radio station in Dallas has been running Six Flags season pass ads on their morning show for the past month or so.
It would be nice to have a "Hey River, you call that lazy?" consultant though.
Those commercials are relatively fun on first watch and I'd probably click on more. But the Mr. Six character still resonates with people decades later and just about anyone, when they hear that song, immediately go to Mr. Six than Vengaboys. Didn't they try to bring it back recently?

Those are some of the best ads on TV right now. I actually laugh at many of them, something commercials hardly ever get me to do, ever...including (and especially) the Flo ads.
Agreed, they are pretty good. And kind of a relief, because I know people my age who do those things in the ads, while I do not. It's probably just wishful thinking, that I'm getting old without seeming old.

I have no idea whether the Funsultant herself will last. The more significant change to me is a focus on "fun" rather than "thrills," which is practically the only thing the old Six Flags used to promote. Even the "thrills" add is aiming for humor, not fear. This definitely feels like Cedar Fair marketing taking over.

A few months ago I read a thread somewhere (Reddit or Facebook most likely) where a surprising number of people commented that the ads weren't funny at all, and actually took offense to them, claiming they were insensitive towards parents/older people. Most of the commentors who actually had a sense of humor didn't hesitate to point out that if you're offended by the ads, you're the ones they're making fun of.
Hell, even if I did half the stuff Dr. Rick points out, I'd still find them funny.
It’s Kathy Griffin without being the real Kathy Griffin. Sound of her voice, facial expressions, curly hair, humor type, body language…all KG playbook. How will that play with the general public who are MAGA and hate KG still to this day for Trump’s head? Time will tell.
Dr Rick ads are fun, but the ones that actually get a chuckle out of me are the ads for another insurance company with the asshole-ish dude who keeps breaking things or causing disasters. Funny stuff (but not very effective as I have no clue/cannot remember which insurance company actually made the ads)
I haven't seen the funsultant yet. KI has been advertising on local AM/FM radio but they're specific ads for KI and not SF in general.

Zero people are going to associate a woman who isn’t Kathy Griffin with Kathy Griffin and the Trump stuff.
Speaking for myself, I thought the ads were mildly entertaining, which means I completely disagree that the woman in them is at all similar to Kathy Griffin.
I think I typed “Kathy Griffin” more times in this post than I’ve ever said her name in my entire life.
Am I crazy or was most of this shot at SFGAm? Seems a weird choice to ship your crew to Chicago.

That makes even less sense, they’re closing that one.
