Welcome back riders, hope you've enjoyed your ride, push down and then pull up on your lap bars and exit to your right, walk down the exit ramp and enjoy the rest of your day here at Paramount's Kings Island.

Looks like most of the questions were either too tough, or many need to bone up on the PKI trivia ;-)  J/K  Here are the answers:

1. How many blocks comprise the Beast?

Six Blocks make up the Beast. They are the dispatch to the top of lift #1, top of lift #1 to 1/3 the way up lift #2, 1/3 the way up lift #2 to top of lift #2, top of lift #2 to the end of brake #3, brake #3 to the sidetrack and 2/3 of the way into the station to 1/3 of the way up lift #1.  Block 6 overlaps block 5 and block 1.

2. What is the name of the fictional military base where "Flight of Fear" resides?

It is called "Fort Cooper" named after Paramount Park's President Jane Cooper.

3. What is the signifigance of the trees on Coney Mall?

They are the original Ginko trees taken from Cincinnati's Coney Island midway.

4. How deep are the International Street Fountains?

The International Street Fountains are a mere 2 feet deep.

5. What popular late 1970's song was consistantly played each Saturday night in the Beast's Que lines until QTV was added?

The song was "S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!" By the Bay City Rollers.

6. Which of these current PKI rides did not originally come from Cincinnati's Coney Island: Flying Eagles, Scrambler or Carousel?

Trick Question. Although Cincinnati's Coney Island did have a scrambler, flying eagles and the Carousel that were transferred to KI, only the Carousel is original. How so? The Scrambler and Flying Eagles have been replaced and refurbished over the years.

7. What was the official name of the canoe attraction that resided where the Beast's station now exists?

The attraction was called "Shawnee Landing." If you don't recall the attraction, it was where Marsha and Jan found the lost architectural plans in the infamous Brady Bunch episode filmed at the park.

8. What did the Brady Bunch actors nickname King's Island when they filmed their episode there?

The "Bunch" referred to King's Island as "The Fishbowl." The actors have stated over the years that while at the park they felt people watching their every move.  While staying at the King's Island Inn, the actors could not even use their batrooms because of the fans "peeping" into their windows.

9. Long before becoming "The Paramount Story" the secluded area next to the Eiffel Tower was added as a tranquil area away from the rides. However when the park originally opened, a major attraction resided there. What was it called and what was it's special feature?

Prior to becoming "The Paramount Story" the area was called "Tower Gardens." But prior to the gardens being built, the spot was home to the "Kings Island Theatre" a large air filled, baloon building. It's special feature? It was home to an elaborate Sid and Marty Kroft Marionette/Puppet show.

10. How many flags are on Coney Mall?

Six Flags fly over Coney Mall. ;-)

11. What is the tongue-in-cheek name of the high striker game situated next to Drop Zone?

It's called Power Tower ala CP's S&S tower attraction.

12. When strange occurrances happen at PKI, employees blame them on a ghost. The "ghost" legend has existed since the 1980's. What is the ghost's name and what is it's significance?

In the early 1980's a boy was showing off for friends during a grad night outing. The young man entered an off limits area of the Eiffel Tower 50 foot platform where he fell to his death. The legend of his ghost still roaming the park exists to this day. The ghost's name? Tower Johnnie.

13. What was Wings Diner in Rivertown called Pre-Paramount?

It was called the "Columbia Palace."

14. What is the official color name of the paint on the Eiffel Tower?

The Eiffel Tower at PKI was originally painted by Sherwin Williams. The paint manufacturer used the park, as well as it's main icon "America's Eiffel Tower", in a lot of their advertising. The official color name is.... "Eiffel Tower."

15. When did Beastie get named Beastie. And why?

In 1980 the Beast's helix was enclosed a year after the ride debuted. Since many young children were unable to ride Beast, but very curious, the park decided to do something about it. So they added a tunnel to the first drop on their "Scooby Doo" coaster to make it a sort of "junior Beast." The park then decided that "Beastie" would be an appropriate new name.

16. In the early 1980's a show at the (then) American Heritage Music Hall was so popular that a cast album was recorded and sold. What was the show called?

The show was called "Celebration." It featured a live orchestra, a cast of nearly 30 and elaborate automated scenery. Firestone sponsored the show which drew capacity crowds. The park ran the show for a few seasons and even had the cast record it on a LP sold in park.

17. What is the official name of the train station in Rivertown? No, I don't mean the King's Mill and Miami Valley Railroad....

The train station is called "Losantville."

18. What is the special significance of the numbers on the "Doom Buggie" cars in Phantom Theatre?

The significance is, that number 13 is missing. EEEEERIE ;-)

19. In preperation for Outer Limits, a major change was made to a nearby attraction in the park. Later, that change was deemed an "oops" by the park and was never necessary. What was it?

The final bunny hops were taken out of Racer just a season or two prior in preparation for a midway expansion. When the OL:FOF was built and plans finalized, it was obvious that the midway was not going to require that much space. The removal of the hops was unecessary.

20. What 1960's sitcom star was so impressed with King's Island that they became the park's early 1980's commercial spokeperson?

Dick Van Dyke was the park's spokesperson in the late 1970's and very early 1980's. His actual quote was "Believe me, I know talented performers when I see them. And King's Island has them."

Oiy Vey!
Hope you enjoyed.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

He's got the facts doesn't he?
FYI, Animation Station in Hanna Barbera Land is one of the old skyride stations.  The other one was located somewhere near the station of King Cobra.  Also, the carousel that was moved from Coney Island was built by PTC in 1926.  The band organ on it was built by Wurlitzer in 1919.  I can`t wait untill PKI opens in 2002, (anyone know when the park opens in 2002?)  Great trivia Shaggy!

Wow cool trivia!  I never realized KI was such a big deal back in the 70's.  Seems like it had CP overshadowed big time during its first decade, hosting the Brady Bunch and so many celebrities!

"It looks like they just decided to hang up wheat all over the park" - my friend Steve, describing the FearFest decorating at Kings Island.
Does anyone else have any other interesting PKI trivia?  I really enjoy this post Shaggy!

Very nice enjoyed very much give us more.
Shaggy,

I thought the "ghost" was named Tower Tommy.  That accident happend on a grad night if I am not mistaken, and I have also heard the kid that died was from the town I live in.  As far as the kid falling off the tower, I have also heard he was crushed by the elevator weight.

Have you heard this also Shaggy?

Thanks Shaggy...I would've gotten a few of them, but I was away on vacation.  Specifically, I knew 3,4,5,15,17 and 19.  I think the train station is LosantOville, though...might be mistaken.  And I have to object to the trick question #6, I strained my poor peabrain trying to get that one only to find that the right answer was not a listed option...Darn that CoasterCamp trivia contest, I never stood a CHANCE!  Sean, also wanted to thank you for those pics...got a new screensaver on the home computer:~)!

I was wondering, are those singing mushrooms from the pure-cheese hit "Rollercoaster" still there?  I doubt it myself, I was wondering if anyone knew of their fate.
Here is one more.....although some people might not get it.

What do the marketing team, and the fence outside of Flight of Fear have in common?

-Sean (not trying to be rude) F.

well roller coaster was filmed a KD KI's sister park and I can say they were there in the late 80's and early 90s ;cause I remember them from when I was a kid  but I would guess they disapred not long after paramount bought the place.

Both will be used to block people off from a murderous rampage when TR:TR finally opens?

Whatever it is I hope it's not too mean. Jennifer and Jeff are the greatest, but do have a good sense of humor.

Koaster King,

Funny answer, but the one I was looking for was...

"No Barb"

Like I said, not a whole lot of people will get that one, and if they do, it may sound mean, but it isn't supposed to be.
