...BTW, do you know the PR guy is married to Dick's sister.
It sounds a little icky there, but it's not. Far from it, in fact.
It takes nothing from either Dick or Ron Knoebel's work to point out that their "little sister" Leanna has had a huge influence on the park her grandfather started. Her official title is that of "Games Manager", but that title is far too limiting as an adequate description of how her presence and influence has been important to the park.
That "PR guy", Joe Muscato, has been associated with the park for three decades now, spanning two centuries (hmmm... kinda like the park's geographic location, in three townships and two counties?). He is one of us non-family types who turned out to have park blood running in his veins, family background notwithstanding. His knowledge and understanding of the park are outstanding and actually predate his marital status - he was the park's "PR guy" before he married Leanna.
Enough geneology 101. Back to continuing the quest to make safe and comfortable seats for the Turns.

Sorry, no "ick" intended. Just a poor choice in wording. *** Edited 6/6/2007 1:46:55 PM UTC by bob256***
Fun that spans two counties! Sounds like a PR campaign. :) (Just to tie the whole thing together).

I knew about the two counties, but not about the third township.
I believe the townships are: Ralpho, Coal, and Locust. Someone correct me if this is wrong.
The intersection is at the creek near the crystal pool where it turns toward the campground. The unseen boundry between Franklin and Cleveland runs from this intersection northeast toward the Skyride up and over the hill.
I love GPS! (oh yea, and Knoebels too :) )
Back on topic... I was at Knoebels last weekend and the FT looks much more impressive in person. The best current view is from the road over by Twister. Can't wait till it opens!

Based on my GPS... the Knoebels property lies in Ralpho, Franklin, and Cleveland Twps. The Phoenix and Flume are in Ralpo, The Alamo and Whip are in Franklin, and the parking lot and Twister are in Cleveland.-tWistEr
I wish they were in Cleveland, would save me a 350 mile trip to get there! :)

Observations...
There is a height difference between the end of lift one and the start of the heleix. The transfer peice should be interesting to see. Also, there is a height difference between the last turn and the start of lift 1. So immediately after the station you must swoop down and then go onto the lift.
What I've heard...
Act. back on Saturdays at that great park, so I dont hear too much, but I did hear that the lights inside the trough will most likely be run way lights, and not trailers. I also heard rumors that the test coaster is up the one shop.
Thats all I got, for now.
Dalado
Station > Lift 1 > Helix > Lift 2 > Main part of ride > brake run > Lift 3 > Station.
And there's a distance right now between the top of Lift #1 and the start of the helix, but there's also a drop of several feet from the lift to the start of the helix. The difference between the two looks steeper than the slope of the helix.
