Shut up Michael Darling.
If you're going to express an opinion publically to thousands of people you've gotta stand up for it better than that.
Now... try again. Why should the movie studio "think of an new idea" for their work of fiction and fantasy?

I don't have an opinion, just wanted to say that:). Its not polite to tell people to shut up when they're expressing their opinion, esp. when they're right, rentzy17.

That sequence would have to be incredibly detailed, and just having the rollercoaster crash would be too short, and would need to have some other action around it, but I love the idea.
How's this? A slender man is seated next to a much larger man in the front seat of a large wooden coaster (Mean Streak? Texas Giant?). The trim brakes are turned off, maximizing the lateral forces. The larger man Mooshes into the smaller one, causing the side panel to come loose. The smaller man is eventually pushed through the side of the car. He falls to his death on a lower section of track. The side of the car breaks free during a drop, striking the heads of several riders on its way to the back seat. The train rams into the small dead man as it completes the course. His body is dragged below the front car for a few yards, destroying several yards of cross-ties, widening the gap between the rails in the process. This allows a few of the trailing cars to tip sideways into the gap, partially decapitating half-a-dozen or so riders on one side of the train.
While this is sufficiently complex and gruesome, it's totally implausible, even by Final Destination standards. Anyone else care to try?

How about having the set at Six Flags Magic Mountain...and the inevitable earthquake hits. I trust you can use your imagination for possible outcomes with this! :)

The train could blow up like in RCT.
[bee-bee-beep] 32 people have died on Roller Coaster 3... except for these four saps who, for the next 2 hours, will rehash a twice-done plot that makes Police Academy 8 and Jaws 4 look really good, and bore you so bad you'll wish you were at your "final destination."
[bee-bee-beep] Guests are complaining about the sorry state of your film industry. Check where your original storylines are and release additional blockbuster Pixar movies if necessary.

I know, I know... All I can say is, it's late :)

Then the action resumes when the second train gets past the block brakes due to coffie spilled on the dispatch controls. One rider from the stuck train realizes the problem (a coaster enthusiast perhaps), and points up to the approaching train. People realize that they are in much greater danger than before. They could be trying their darndest to escape the restraints. Screaming and crying.
When the trains collide, one train could fly off of the tracks, killing the whole trainload and bystandards as well. The other train could be dangleing from the tracks from a high place. People could be in danger of falling to their deaths. Other people who somehow broke free from the restraints during the collision could be reaching for the people hanging on for dear life, who of course fall after a great "GRAB MY HAND" style struggle...
There could also be explosions and decapitations. :) I can't imagine how a coaster scene could be any more action packed then the highway scene from FD2. This is assuming that the coaster death scene is at the beginning of the movie and is the accident that is escaped by the main characters dream.
How did I do? I am going to film school soon. :)
Look here is the answer..if you are afraid to ride a coaster after seeing FD3 fine - One less person in line is better for all of us! I was at SFGA back in the day when one of the passengers fell out of Lightning loops before they moved the ride out of there. Did that stop me from riding Rolling thunder or any other coaster for that matter umm...NO..... I feel safer on a coaster than I do Driving down I-4 everyday.
Let's face it if you are not paying attention, you have a better chance of falling of the horse trying to catch the brass ring than you do falling out or dying on a roller coaster.
