Final Destination 3 rumor

Its speculation at this moment, but if New Line decides to move forth Final Destination 3, (based on DVD sales for the sequal) there is one idea floating around for the third in what has made both FD's notoious for opening sequences- that of a roller coaster disaster.....
Theres a reason why your post got deleted. This will be too.
Anyway, where did you hear this? And it'll probably scare people out of riding coasters. At least make 'em think that soemthing bad will happen to them if they ride one..

Yeh, I deleted my own post before, I don't care if this post deleted as long as I let those interested know...(I don't want to advertise web sites on this site, but try looking at all the movie/ horror fan sites)
SFGAMan - I don't think people have too hard of a time seperating a movie from reality ... I mean look at the scene in "House on Haunted Hill" involving Hulk ... no one actually died but it simulated a crash and what could happen. I honestly think that would be a really interesting idea for the third one. The beginning of the second one was incredible.
Well Idont really think people wont actually never go on roller coasters again but for people who are already scared of them, thats different. People who are scared of coasters and dont have much knowledge on them might think that it could actually happen and now have another reason not to go 'em. They'll at least think about 'em.

What do you think will actually happen i the scene? Maybe if its a woodie, aa board will come apart and hit someone. Or ,aybe the train will (somehow) just derail or something.

Did the movie Rollercoaster keep people off coasters? Not that I know of.

A few people might get scared but in my opinion it might only help fuel some attention to parks and increase attendance.

I feel the need, the need for speed.

Rollercoaster's accidents occurred due to the actions of a terrorist, which people can easily associate as fantasy.

If FD showed some sort of accident on a ride, who knows what could happen. You'd be surprised at how many people think that coasters can fly off of the track or roll back down the lift hill.

If this movie gets made, and if it does indeed begin with a roller coaster accident, I'd like to see something a bit more complicated than a simple derailment. Remember, the premise of this series...that "fate" will find a way to kill those who have cheated death...strains credulity, so the accident itself can be fairly improbable without violating the logic of the film.

While I've not seen Final Destination 2, and I wasn't too big a fan of Final Destination because I live near JFK, things like that have happened, and I saw it the day before flying to Florida, the best group death scene is, without question, the beginning of Ghost Ship.

Like Jordan said, it wouldn't be anything new for something scary and surreal to happen on a coaster or ride in a movie. Just watch HOHH, Rollercoaster!, Thrill, Bebe's Kids, Spy Kids 2, or even National Lampoon's Vacation to figure that out. I doubt (many) people stopped making flights, driving, walking, or cooking due to the first two FD films.

Anyways, Mike is right that the Final Destination filmmakers are looking at doing a coaster/ride catastrophe for the next one if they decide to continue with it. I usually throw reality out the window when I go to a movie like this, so I won't mind at all. Didn't Legally Blonde 2 border on science-fiction? ;)

I completely agree Maddie. That associated with the ending to Ghost Ship was "killer". I had wild ending weekend with that and Femme Fatale. Horror movies generally aren't logical in any way.

I bet it would scare some people away, or at least make the coasters a bit more thrilling for them.

One of my coworkers saw the second one and is deathly afraid of driving behind "Log trailers" now.

I've never seen either and I don't like driving behind them as it is...

Whenever you can ride a roller coaster and experience 15 spots of intense airtime, you know you're on a good coaster. (see: Phoenix)

And an exploding plane is something the airline industry needed? Go away you silly fanboy.

I snap flyers.

Yes, the start of Ghost Ship is a 'eye-opener' for sure!!! I just saw FD2 the other day and it was gorry(sp?).

To me, the scariest Final Destination could follow a very simple plot line - any trip that ends at any Six Flags park! :O

Just kidding of course...

With this in mind.....

So how many Christmas Parties in high rise buildings were cancelled because of the movie "Die Hard" ??????

CBCon 2002 Quote "We didn't even get wet"......30 seconds later you hear plop, then splash!!!!

I rented Ghost Ship just because I heard the opening scene was so gory.. and it was... ew.

Anyways, that would be a very creative way for the opening sequence in FD. I love all FD movies but still haven't seen the 2nd one, it's been out. I wonder how they'd make an RC accident as horrible as the first 2...

Tales for the L33t

I rented the DVD on Friday and I thought it was off the hizzle. I remember when I saw the first one I was afraid of flying for some time. I would always look for signs, busted fuslage rivets, ailerons and flaps etc. If this is true then I wonder what rollercoaster they will choose. Beast, Magnum, Viper@ sfgadv (coasters on isht list)

I watched Final Destination on an airplane while on a school trip.

I got beaten up by my friends afterward.

The thing that struck me and that stays with me about Final Destination is exactly how much focus was *not* placed on the "big bang." It was just background action.

Since we live just below an airport's approach, anytime we hear thunder without seeing lightning, or anything like that, we always look up.

Just an idea...

Magnum could be full of people and then with the train at the top of the lift the whole coaster sinks into the lake.
