How did people almost drown on Double Loop?

Thanks,
DMC

Upon further reflection, we have *decided* that they were *almost certainly* GATORS in "the croc pit". I can't prove it, but if anyone else CAN prove or disprove, feel free to contradict me. Here's my reasoning (hang on, always a crackpot theory)....gators are more "tractable" and easier to handle than crocs are in general. Also, gators have better teeth, because they have better dentisits than crocs. As I recall, the animals in the pit didn't have the crooked, protruding teeth of a croc, or the nose of a croc...also, why risk a valuable croc in there when gators serve the same general purpose and are basically "free for the taking". Save the crocs for elsewhere, they can be cared for better in any of several other locations in the park. Again, I'm willing to hear the other argument, cause I'm not CERTAIN.

Why'd they take 'em out....MY "best guess" is they were probably getting fed too many pennies and park maps...

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

I'm almost certain there is "some" truth to the hair one. A topic similar to this one has come up in the past and somebody posted a link to a news story where girl did get some of her hair stuck in some tea cups type ride and it ripped right from her scalp. I can't imagine a more painful experience than that one must have been. *** Edited 12/5/2003 2:46:03 AM UTC by SFGAMDie HARD***

Mildly amused since 2003.
Not my favorite, but works my last nerve, is that SFMM's Psyclone is rough because of the Northridge Earthquake. Forget the fact that the ride is a POS and crappily maintained.

If that were the case, then why is the 1924 built Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz still glass smooth and awesome after all these years, even after the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, which was centered just 10 miles from SCBB.

Did BGT keep the Gators? When I visited the park for the first time in October I noticed that there was a small enclosure with either Crocs or Gators on the left hand side as you approach the entrance to Egypt (I say enclosure but humans were protected only by a 3ft gate which either party could easily jump over). I was just wondering whether these were the 'pit monsters'.
could a croc and/or gator clear a 3 ft hurdle?
Gator - not to mention, gators make a lot more sense in FL than crocs do. They may have been caimans though (ha, not really, I just like the word "caiman").

SFGAMDie hard - you can't imagine a more painful experience than getting your scalp pulled off? I just thought of about 100 off the top of my head (no pun intended).

Does one include SOB?

Damandan, the enclosure you're referring to is across from the theatre where they hold the Ice Show. I think there's only gators in there as well, but there are a couple of enclosures at BGT where thet DO have crocs.
The "pit" we're all referring to is the one DIRECTLY beneath Montu as you exit the station. Neither gators NOR crocs are going to hurdle a 3' high fence....certainly crocs COULD get their heads up that high, but NOT their entire body...

Den, caiman IS a cool word, but not as cool as Kaman (hoops talk, LOL)...

I know gators make more sense in Florida, but it was the African section of the park, so crocs would have made more sense if Busch was really into themeing. But then how many of the GP would know the difference?

Apparently, even the University of Florida can't tell the difference:

Crocs look scarier, and since most people don't know the difference anyway, why not go with the scarier looking guy?

It's still my #1. BTW Have you ridden it.

Nobody mentioned the coaster that does under/through water... and you have to hold your breath as you go under!!!
This is a legend I heard just this year at SFGAM. Someone said that Iron Wolf is tearing itself apart from the foundation or sinking. I cant remember which but they said its because this was B&M first coaster and they overbuilt the structure. Atleast the GP knew the designers and the history of the ride. I thought this was hilarious when I first heard this.

I heard something about CP carousel's being haunted and sometimes turning on the music and playing at night. I think the carousel they are talking about got moved to Dorney Park though.

Handcuffs on Gemini.

Two guys rode Gemini- one in the red train, one in the blue- and handcuffed themselves together during the course. They didn't realize that the trains split apart at the helix at the end and they got their arms ripped off. How both of them had their arm severed is beyond me.

Yeah, because coasters are always breaking down and ejecting people.

Well Intamin rides do ;)
