I am really glad I ended up packing three different shirts for the trip! One got soaked on Pilgrim's Plunge in the morning, the other one of course got wet during ERT, which left me one more warm, dry shirt for the trip home.
Funny thing about Plunge was that only half of you gets wet. I got off and my left side was soaked (I sat on the left), but my right side was almost completely dry. Just a few stray drops.

Depends entirely on the seat you're in, and how loaded the boat is. More people, further back = more side spillage. And swamp-ass.

I feel as though I belong in a body cast today! What an excellent event! Thank you Jeff for putting it together, and another large thank you to the always superb Holiday World staff!
53 laps on Voyage throughout the day, 9 of those during the chaotic ERT.
Oh, and MaxairMike.... row, row, row your boat was not easy to sing while on that ride! But, it was 100% worth it.

ALL HAIL THE TRIPLE DOWN!
I just wanted to thank Jeff and The GREAT Crew at Holiday World for a trip I'll never forget!
Valleyfair, you almost caught up with me, I managed a total of 59
Voyage laps, good times all around!
Hmmm not sure whats worse.. Not being able to go to this, or hearing all the rave reviews and kudos about the event I couldnt go to.
Football got in the way yet again.
Always next year right?

And I thought I was a ride warrior for doing 53 laps on a roller coaster over three days, holy cow. When you add in all the haunts I did Friday, flats (I seriously think I rode Gobbler's Getaway more times then I did the Voyage on Saturday,) water rides and shows over the weekend I defiantly did 100 rides. My body is not liking me right now, but it better shape up because its got a night at CP coming in just 5 days.
When you take three spins on the Turkey Whirl without getting off and not worrying about losing laps on Voyage, you know lines are light. Three trips on Gobbler Getaway as well. Oh, and 6 laps on Legend...should I take this over to the clock thread? ;)

Let me now revisit some of the DUMBEST DECISIONS I have ever made leading up to one ERT session at Holiday World:
1) "You know what?" (I told my buddy Kevin) "I think I'm gonna grab one more slice of pizza before heading down to ERT. The pizza here is so awesome, you just can't say no."
--Jump cut to Barry J. clutching his sides from laughing so hard during the Death By A Thousand Rain Pellets Barrage that because I couldn't SEE--AT ALL--I had no way to brace for anything. Gee, I was sooooooooooooo glad I overindulged on extra pizza as I was SLAMMING my torso into lap bars and seat belts. (I was using my youtube POV video recall to enhance my experience).
2) "Nawwwwwwwwwwww. . .I don't need a poncho. . .A little rain never hurt anybody."
Famous last words.
Never. Been. Wetter. In. My. Life. (And that includes the historic rain at Stark Raven Mad in 2002 as well!!!)
But what a memorable night for everybody!!! Can't wait to see some video from all the madness!!!!!!!
Did anyone other than me and Tyler do any substantial number of laps on Plunge? I gotta say, that ride is awesome in ways I had not expected. And the water was strangely warm, to the extent that I meant to ask if they were heating it.

Glad to see that you got your >50 lap goal in! You also got your wish of rain to grease up the Voyage track, which I'm sure judging from all of the other reports here was insane!
The funny thing for us is that we got to our car about a minute after the real heavy stuff came down. We didn't realize it at the time, but not getting on Raven one last time worked out nicely, because 20 minutes on the way back to Cincinnati we got out in front of the rain. It rained for a total of 10 minutes on the way back. Looking back, I'd probably be 50/50 on whether I'd enjoy the insane Voyage rides or the easier drive back more.
Jeff, thanks for a great event! We had a great time, including a fantastic bumper car marathon at the end of the day. We'll definitely be back next year. Good times!
Jeff, I managed some trips on the Plunge and I have to say I loved that ride, and other parks should take notice. The spray coming off the drop 'waterfall' which hits you the whole way down the drop, was fun as it rendered me blind for splashdown adding to the madness. Not to mention the lift system is insane!
Carrie, it was nice meeting you, I'm Andrew who was sitting behind you during that second to last Voyage trip of the night. I will admit I was ducking behind you to try and dodge some of the rain but I was not successful. That front seat must have been one wild ride!
I'm sheriff of this here rollercoaster.
I was one of the lucky ones who got to stay on for those last wet & wild rides. Ended up in row 4 for the last 6 or 7 rides. Had my sunglasses on but still could not see because they would fog up and the rain flowed around them into my eyes.
Never felt more alive and all was right with the universe for those few preciouse minutes.
Big thank you again to all involved.
My name is Mike, and I'm a coasterholic.
I have NEVER seen people so wet ... even in the water park! That was wild to watch--you CoasterBuzzers never disappoint. :)

It was really nice to meet you, too, Andrew! I regret not getting to match more names with screen names at the event.
And I don't think it was possible to dodge any of that rain. It was definitely wild from the front seat and cathartic in a strange way. Like I said, good times.
Thanks, Paula! It was really great of the park to go to such efforts to try to help us get ERT in, too. That's appreciated. I can only imagine how ridiculous we looked at the end there, but everyone was having a lot of fun. That's all that matters!

I agree Carrie, I met some great people there and now I'm trying to figure out which screenname fits each person I met! Not an easy process.
For those attempting to do the same, I am Chance Mitchell. I am the tall guy who was wearing the gray ATRA shirt. I could be found on Voyage throughout most of the day, and was riding in row 5-1 for the latter half of ERT. My friend Michelle was with me throughout most of the day as well, but she doesn't have an account here just yet. I'm still training her in the ways of the enthusiast. :)

I rode the Plunge a total of 5 times all in row 1. Loved it, it was really nice to meet everyone too. I was sporting my Grey ND shirt most of the day and switched into my green ND sweatshirt for the night.
I was wearing my brown Maverick shirt all day, with the exception of the morning when I had my blue Geauga Lake long-sleeve on up until my ride on Pilgrims Plunge. I didn't really "meet" anyone in the formal sense of the word (outside of the people that came with my friend, who I don't think post here), but I did see a lot of 'Buzzers throughout the day.

I was wearing my Coaster Freak shirt from Kings Island, spent most of the day on the Voyage with Chance, Ron, & Scott. Great times!
Rode the Plunge once, and a couple laps on Raven and Legend with Scott during ERT. We went back for a couple more laps on the Voyage.
Those last rides were insane!
Thanks again Paula!
I had a great time there also. If anybody wants to know. I was the big guy wearing the Magnum 20th Anniversary shirt. :) I was there with maXairMike. :) It was a amazing day from start to finish.
