It looks like a fun ride. I'm a sucker for a flat that can get me pretty close to "sick". I guess my next question is, why aren't there more of these suckers?
(now I'll pay attention- I swear)

Just had the chance to review the youtube of a tagada at Fantasialand... The one at Morey's was a much more fierce bounce than the little hops this thing was giving out.
Yeah, the one shown on YouTube is running a pretty gentle cycle. The one I rode at Oktoberfest in Munich, on the other hand, was controlled by a downright NASTY op, and unlike Morey's still had no seatbelts. I was holding onto the rail as tightly as I could, and I was being thrown all over the place.
And loving every second of it.

I love most older flat rides. I just have a question involving not a fading flat ride, but one that seems to be everywhere. The Himalaya ride. How come most of this type of ride doesn't go backwards anymore? Seems like all the ones I see anymore don't go backwards.
^Love the Kangaroo! Use to be a staple at our local fair. I think Kennywood has the only one left in the US (there are modern versions in the UK).
How about the Tip-Top (aka: Bubble Bounce). Another old fave of mine and I cannot remember when the last time I saw one of the old versions anywhere.
This topic is like Jesus. It has rose from the dead.
I saw a Tip Top at a fair in Charleston, WV recently. I didn't have time to stop and ride it though, even though I really really wanted to. Camden Park used to have a Tip Top, and it was so much fun.

I've ridden Tip Tops at Stricker's Grove and Sylvan Beach recently. Fun rides! I seem to recall riding or seeing one at another park in the US.
There is no shortage of Tilt-a-Whirls in the US. Morey's has three for crying out loud!

My guess it that it has something to do with the fact that every time some kid comes out of one, it is revealed that the ride was running backwards. Most recently was about a week ago at the California Mid State Fair.

RE: Tango.
RCS (the carnival operator for the big three SoCal fairs (Del Mar, OC, and LA County) has had a Tango for the last 4 years. I haven't been this year (OC fair is in progress until 8/15), but would expect it to be part of the midway.
They also have a portable Miler coaster, which makes a great noise, and is great fun.
Thanks, Rideman.
I don't know if it qualifies as a flat ride or not, but my favorite is the double ferris wheel. They seem to be getting harder and harder to find.
Does anyone remember the old carnival "Hurricane" rides!? They were usually painted gold, and it was 4 rocket type cars at the ends of arms, attached to a center hub/tower.
Found it!

ewww wicked url. These things were serious fun, severe lateral forces when you were in the 'down' position if I remember correctly.
Camden Park also had one of those, and it was one of my favorite rides there too. lol
I'm pretty sure that Knoebels Grove has a Hurricane. Theirs has more modern seating though. They are more open, I believe.

^Knoebel's has both the Dartron Downdraft (which I think is the one you're referencing and the RotoJet (which has those amazing laterals in the "down" position). After seeing a young girl ride "down" for a good 75-90 seconds, I thought I'd give it a go on my upcoming ride. I might have made 30 seconds, at best. The operator had a good chuckle at my expense...good times! :)
Corkscrew Follies, there's a double ferris wheel currently operating at Fun Spot Kissimmee.
Matt - Not having been to Sylvan, Stricker's is the only Tip-Top I can recall *ever* seeing at a fixed amusement park.
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
I'd seen Tip Tops at carnivals when I was a kid and had always wanted to ride one but the loud "Hssssssst!" of the mechanisms that made it bounce frightened me. I finally got my chance at Wild Waves just south of Seattle when I was there a few years back. Not sure if it's since been removed but man what a fun ride.
FYI, the video for the Cars' "Touch & Go" was filmed at Whalom Park and features their Tip Top, called Bouncer. View here.
