Expected Opening Day for Steel Vengeance

Pretty stoked. My wife booked us at Breakers for the Run and Ride 5k weekend until Monday. Being there for a full Sunday is key!

On the subject of Cedar Point, I'd like to purchase a season pass to all Cedar Fair parks b/c I will be going to at least 4. I am finding this a challenge b/c when I go to Cedar Fair's website and click on BUY TICKETS, I get a screen asking me to select a park. It's not giving me the option of selecting all 13 parks. So how do I get a season pass that's good across the board?

Get the Cedar Fair Platinum Pass. Unlimited admission to all Cedar Fair parks in the calendar year of validity that includes parking.

You'll need to buy a platinum pass for a specific park. Pick the park you'll be visiting first because you will have to get the pass processed and then be able to use it at all parks.

Thanks, loriu. That worked. The funny thing is that although Kings Island is over 500 miles away from me and Dorney is only an hour away, I had to pick Kings Island b/c I've already booked a flight to Cincinnati for the end of April and Dorney doesn't open until May.

Cedar Point is now teasing Opening Weekend as "Steel Vengeance World Premiere Weekend" so I would say it is safe to assume the park will be doing everything in its power to make sure the ride is ready to go by May 5th

Nope. Someone already said it’s be May 27 2016. Then May 29 2017. I’m still holding out hope that he’s right.

^Sounds like wild speculation to me. Do you have source you can link to? Because as Brett said, the park is saying the 5th.

Unless you're operating on some sarcastic level that went over my head, you might want to go back and re-read the post you're responding to a little more closely.

Yeah... I missed the "2017"

I see what you did there...

Oh man...where did that thread go? Can't find it...

I’m pretty sure there was alcohol involved and I’m 100% sure my name was on the list.

Silly boys. Anyone with any sense knew all along the ride was for ‘18, right? 😉

That was it! I'm still waiting for my beer.

He put me in, too. Me, Mr. Vater, and Tek.
But then I had to open my fat mouth and state that I didn’t care when the ride opened and I could buy my own beer. Dammit. I must’ve been drunk.

But a bet is a bet.

The arguements are a funny read, the funny kind that makes you want to rip your own eyes out, and more than one of our Sprig’s insistences didn’t come to pass. We shoulda bet on the length of the ride too, clearly.

He hasn’t been back since the ride didn’t open...

I wouldn't go on a weekend, unless you want long wait times for SV. I'd recommend going on a weekday morning, before people's schools let out, so as to get minimum (morning) crowds. If you are going to do this as a stop on a tour, I would stay in a local (CP) hotel such as Breakers Express, or Castaway Bay, so you can get one-hour-early entry into the park. Mean Streak had a later opening time, but I don't see why SV would, since it is going to be a feature attraction. Hope this helps.

I am eagerly awaiting the real POV instead of the CG one. I want to see what the actual pacing of the ride looks like. I have my plane tickets booked for end of May, going on Mon and Tues to avoid some of the masses and to ensure the kiddies are in school. Should be awesome!
