Ever drive by a park but could not stop?

I've driven by Valleyfair when I went to get my car at the autoauction place across the road, Adventureland more times then I can count.  I've been to both of those though so its not too big of a loss.

I did drive past PKD without stopping while going to Jamestown I think.  That kind of sucked, but I didn't have any money to pay for it so what are you going to do?

Just wait till next year!

Oh there were also two times that I drove right past PKD: Once on my way to IOA; The other on my way to BGW. Needless to say, I was *not* upset in the least =].

Robcoasting, what kind of weird route do you take from NJ to Indiana that takes you by PKI *before* SFWoA?  PKI is like 4 hours southwest of SFWoA.  Or did you just mix those up?

LOL! The list wasn't in any particular order, they were just the standouts. ;)

This happens to me every time my family drives down to visit family in the San Jose area.  I pass by SFMW when my mom's driving since she takes I-80 instead of 680, and then we drive on the freeway near PGA & Great America Parkway (right in front of the park) and look over at the park.  The same thing happens on the way back home.  My grandma lives one mile away from the park, and when I was a kid we'd go outside and watch their 4th of July fireworks.

When I was on my way, from Tampa, to IOA, I drove right past Sea World Orlando and Kraken.  It was difficult to deal with to see Kraken just sitting there calling my name.

That and the Kissimee (SP?) Skycoaster.  Now that was difficult.

Yeah, Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, and Knott's Berry Farm I pass at least once every other week.

I drove by PKD one night, but I couldn't stop b/c A: It was midnight, and B: it was snowing (the park is closed in the winter).  When I was little, my mom would wake me up whenever we drove by it.  It was usually around midnight to 2 AM. (and always in the winter)

My wife and I made a quick trip from Buffalo to Holiday World past Labor Day weekend.  En route we stopped at a Wendy's to eat, unfortunately, we stopped right across from PKI and had no time that weekend to visit.  On the bright side, we did get to watch SOB running from the restaurant windows.
Twice every year i drive past Knoebel's, PKD, BGT, (sometimes BGW), i get within 15 miles of SFA, go right past IOA and Sea World Orlando, and then buzz past Disney.  That kind of sucks, but im on my way down to my condo, so it's all good.
Was driving my wife to the hospital, when she was about to deliever our first child, saw Wild Thing off to the side. It was either stop and ride or go to the hospital... she called me 6 hrs later and told me we had a son ..... :)

I may have the inside info... but why be known to everyone.. Downplay it and call me, "The Outsider!" ;)
Lets see I passes IOA and once when we went on a class trip we drove right by SFWOA (Still Geauga Lake) and went to Sea World for a boring day of looking at Penguins! We all took pictures of Geauga Lake instead of Sea World!
I was visiting relatives and we drove right by Cedar Point. That sucked
We go right by PKD when we travel up to NYC every year.

You can see the big old sign by the highway near PKD, the Eiffel Tower, and sometimes Hypersonic XLC when you're on the highway.  About a year ago we stopped and ate breakfast at the Dennys in the hotel near the entrance to PKD..  the food sucked ;) .

An update...

This will probably happen this April.  My wife and I are driving to Norfolk VA for two hockey games (on Wed and Fri nights).  While there, were are planning on going to either go to Colonial Williasmburg or check out the local light houses on Thursday, and go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg on Friday.  According to their schedule, PKD will be open then and we will pass right by it on our way to and from Norfolk.  We won't be able to stop on Wednesday if we want to get to Norfolk in time for the game, and we won't be able to stop on the way back if we want to get home for the Saturday night hockey game in Hershey.

no, but i have a friend who was travelling with people who did not ride coasters. they drove past panama city and my friend saw a coaster operating and made his friends stop the car so he could use the men's room. when he didn't come immediatly back, they looked around and saw him riding the coaster. this was about 15 yrs. ago. he also spotted another coaster further down, but they raced passed that one. it was a standing but not operating coaster. the starliner is the one he rode.
LOL thats funny :)

anyway, i goto a doctor in Cincinnati (i live in Xenia, Ohio) and i drive right by PKI going there, AND going to the Science Museum for my birthday every year. sometimes i want to leap out of the car and goto the coasters :) its VERY annoying to see SoB, KK,DropZone, FaceOff,  and Vortex sitting there ands me not on them :(

-----------------

I drive by PGA, but it doesn't really entice me, save Drop Zone!
On the way to Daytona, where I go to school, we always end up passing Carrowinds......it's the highlight of my trip :)
Last summer, my family and I took a trip to Kentucky, and we passed PKI on the way. My parents told me that we'd go back there sometime, and I hope we will. Just looking at those coasters, knowing that I'd have to wait a long time before I ever rode them...I can't even describe it lol.
I drove by SFMM to go to La CaƱada to visit friends. Goliath was taunting me...:(
