Epcot Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind opening

Ugh, you know, even if 10 people a day hurl, that doesn't make it a "widespread problem." That's a 0.03% of all riders problem.

But "widespread problem" is a better headline to get clicks from the Google

widespread depends on how well they aim

I'm not sure if this is widely known, but Disney has extended evening hours for guests who stay at deluxe and deluxe villa resorts on select days. Additionally on the Epcot days there is an additional VQ drop for Guardians at 6pm exclusively for these guests.

I've been hearing that Swan and Dolphin guests are having IT trouble with the 6pm VQ drop for the evening hours, despite being entitled to enter it. Sad for us since we're going to stay at the Dolphin in Sept.

We had 0 issues with our Swan Reserve stay when it came to after-hours benefits. Granted, we still didn't get queued up in time to get LL's, but that's an "us" problem.

VQ is out of the building right now. There's also a short line for the merch. LL at least goes right in. Tons of people just hanging out.

Update on capacity: It's a small sample, but today I clocked the dispatch interval at about 35 seconds, which is still an impressive 2,000 pph. We had no issue getting a queue time at the 1pm refresh, and the projected time went from 6:30 to 4:55.

Its refreshing to see Disney finally building a 2000 pph coaster after all those years. Slinky Dog, Seven Dwarves Mine Train and TRON can barely do 1200 pph on a good day, leading to the giant lines they always get.

I think it's asking a lot of even Disney for every major ride to be of this capacity. The cost of staffing and maintenance must be astronomical to run 4 separate load/unload platforms and however many trains they need to fill them.

People are mostly paying $100 a day, I'm sure it's well within budget. For every operator there are three or four people doing crowd control or entrance or preshows or whatever. There are 8 people loading and two at unload. I passed 14 cast members before I even got into the train. All of the big attractions are staffed this way.

Many of their ride experiences are already compromised by the need for more capacity IMO. Not sure how they could squeeze out even more without having two tracks.

At 8:33 this morning I was able to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for tonight after work. There were many times available (this was 3 minutes after ILL became available to everyone with a park reservation for the day after 90 minutes of resort guest exclusivity) and the earliest I could have chosen was 2:45pm. If you are willing to pay, it seems like there is at least opportunity to do so without having to worry about milliseconds mattering. The price had also dropped to $14 from whatever it was on opening weekend.

Looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about.

My wife got the morning round from home last Friday, which hit around 4, and Tuesday of last week got the in-park 1pm round which hit around 5. I don't think it's as elusive as people think.

The ride was a lot of fun! While still very much a Disney coaster in terms of intensity, I was pleasantly surprised at how many moments of "oh wow!" it had. My biggest concern during the years of construction was over reliance on screens and little emphasis on the actual coaster aspect of the ride (see Gringotts) and I am so happy that is not the case here. Total ride time is impressively long, and the onboard audio (I got September) was fun. And watching the grouper assign rows and the rest of the station crew ready and clear dispatch trains is like observing a master class in ride operation efficiency. The strangest part for me was having another major roller coaster in Orlando starring Chris Pratt.

TL;DR - Cosmic Rewind > Rip Ride Rockit

Ha! I didn't even think about the Chris Pratt connection. I guess you've made it in that case.

No doubt Florida has the best grouper.

Does Chris Pratt have some RRR connection? I’ve never been.

He's part of the Velocicoaster storyline.
