Hmmm.

Disney hates poor people.
Disney hates power riders.

so...

Disney wants fat-pocket guests that don't ride much?

Guardians is listed as being an Individual Lightning Lane ride on this page:

So prepare to pony up if you want to skip the line. It's the (new) Disney way!

And I will. Once.

Contrast with Universal who doesn't open new rides with Express Pass. I am sure it will be "fine" In the end just like getting a Rise of the Resistance reservation was "fine" but I am staying at Universal in the fall for HHN and will be little anxious about getting a reservation.

Or you could just skip it this time. It will be there for a while. I've been known to do that with the New Hotness when getting on was too much of a hassle.

Last edited by Brian Noble,

Have any rides been on VQ and LL at the same time? I read rumors that Guardians was going to have LL when it opened, which makes total sense from a money grab standpoint. I don't anticipate dropping $60-$80 for the four of us to take a ride. But I do wonder how much adding LL will eat into the availability for VQ.

Yes. I know for a fact Remy's was both ILL and BG's for a bit. I think Rise stopped using VQ right before Genie+ went live, so Remy's might be the only one.

It appears there will be a virtual queue for Guardians and no standby line. All the fan sites seem to be releasing info in the last 24 hours.

Wasn't that known or just widely assumed?

Pretty sure that was officially announced at some point.

I think "it uses VQ" was known; the 'news' in the last day or two was what time of day the VQ inventory opened (7A and 1P).

since those were the exact same times as RotR and Remy, not sure that this is news either. (not piling on, just saying that wouldn't have been news to me)

I didn’t know Rise and Remy’s had a second drop at 1pm. Interesting. I’ve also seen that on deluxe evening hours days there an additional drop at 6pm which is not mutually exclusive with the other two.

The 1pm drop was the only way I made it on Rise last May. Failed on the 7am drop and went to the area around Launch Bay at 1pm where the Wi-Fi is supposedly best. We got a boarding group and made it on the ride between 4pm and 5pm.

I'm curious to see if the ride actually has a problem with causing motion sickness. Some of the Disney "news" sites that Facebook keeps shoving in my face suggest it's an ongoing issue. However, I had no problems whatsoever, and I'm someone who gets sick on spinning coasters and rides all the time. I was likely extra sensitive as well given that I rode it with Covid, though I didn't know it at the time. (I came down with symptoms that evening.)
