El Toro, Announced

Well there are several things wrong with this ride...
  1. There is no white stripe on the side of the track
  2. It was not built by a company that contains the letter "G" (GCII or GG)
  3. Lack of underground tunnels
  4. Lack of the word "Xtreme" or any other form of the word in the name
  5. Lack of useless words tacked on to the end (such as "the ride" or "the escape" or my favorite "ultimate ride escape")
  6. It's at a Six Flags park that doesn't run both sides of their LIM coaster at the same time
  7. It's not at Cedar Point
  8. It's a copy of Talon
  9. It's boring - OMG it's an out and back
  10. KK is still a copy of TTD, only it has a hernea.
  11. It's at Six Flags
  12. OMG it's so suXor!!!11!! Vogage r0x0rs!!!111
  13. The name is stolen from SFStL's scrambler ride before they rethemed it.
  14. Live from New York, It's Saturday Night!

Thank you. :-)

While I haven't had a bad experience at Great Adventure in a long time, I'm not going to say that the negative reports are lies- I know that the park has the potential to be a dreadful place. I hope that the park gets their complete act together because they could be one of the best amusement parks in the world.

- Great atmopshere (the wooded setting by the lake is gorgeous)

- Lots of room for expansion

- Good collection of wet rides (including two good flumes)

- Great coaster collection (four great B&Ms including airtime-laden Nitro, three launched coasters, decent mine train, good indoor coaster, racing wooc coaster and now El Toro)

A sad case of wasted potential, if you ask me.

You got me sold, Swoosh. This ride does suck. What were we thinking? ;)
I think it looks great with tons of air! I'm not going to ride the name, but that is good too. As for this vs. The Voyage, I vote to ride them both. Right now I think The Voyage looks better, but you never know till you ride.
Swoosh, by heavens you're right, how could they possibly think of building this coaster without a white strip on the side of the track? Might be time to scrap the whole plan.
haha....still trying to catch my breath after Swoosh's comment!! :)

i agree with the earlier comment, those of you that want to complain, stay home, lol! i am personally stoked about this ride. i just hope they get it up and running before finals week next semester. ive seen videos of Colossus in Germany and it looks AMAZING! i cant wait to see what this new coaster is gonna do. looks like SFGadv is becoming the motherpark for Six Flags....its all about the east coast baby:)

still trying to think of a good signature...

LMAO! You guys are too much. This makes my day. :-P

<---who says El Toro sucks because I am an enthusiass and I am better than everyone else and have the intelligence to judge a coaster based on stats and an animation. ;-)

Actually, Swoosh, #2 is wrong. It was built by Intamin AG...

But it still sucks.

;)

hey, one thing i just noticed; do you think they'll remove the bridge that goes from where Viper used to stand over to Medusa? if they do, its gonna be a LONG walk from El Toro and vicinity, back to Medusa and the log flume, lol. i wonder if maybe they will just close it till the new coaster opens. no matter though, a little exercise never hurt, right? :)

still trying to think of a good signature...

That path has been closed since Viper was removed. Its all fenced in. I hope they leave it open I hate dead ends in parks. I think Bugs Bunny Land is going down by the lake front where Mickey D used to be and the band stand is.

Thanks,
DMC

This doesn't look like a ride that deserved all the hype. It just looks tall and fast and short (4,400, that's nothing compared to the other woodies around the world).

Umm, according to RCDB, there are only 20 wooden coasters in the world that are longer in length.

(and one of those is Voyage, which doesn't exist yet)

I think they will find a way to reopen that walkway to Medusa from Plaza del Carnavale.

Yippeeeeeeeeeee new themed area.

ummmmmmmm swoosh I was thinking it was a top 10 list from the home office but I guess you had an other show in mind ;)

Watch the tram car please....
Who cares?
It's football season!

Go Bengals!

Oh, this is a coaster thread, Im sorry.

HOLY CRAP! That thing looks sweet. That near vertical drop, AIRTIME HEAVEN! Those turns at the end looks very cool as well. SOmething very different from any wooden coaster out there. This is a ride worth traveling for.

Man, I can't wait for next year.

Don't like the name though

El Toro stole Voyage's record for steepness of first drop. That's just disrespectful! ;)

Yeah but Most peeps will be able to ride Voyage.

So I guess PTC is dissrespecting El Toro
Not to mention I bet it's more reliable first season.

SWEET!!!

Only problem i have here is the people bashing it because its at Six Flags. So if it were at a Cedar Fair park it would be more well recieved. I dont understand the logic there. As far as SFGADV goes, dare I say the best coaster collection out there. This addition alone just puts it in front of Cedar Point. Cant say too much about SFMM though waiting until they announce Tatsu.

Uh, chuck? I've never heard of people complaining about the other 2 Pre-fab's reliability. You're just complaining as well, so stuff it.
