Dorney to receive new rides in 2004

I know some of us have been questioning whether dp will receive any new attractions for the 2004 season because of the huge floorless project. Well, the answer is, they will be receiving attractions.

Others may vouch for this as well for proof, I just checked my email and received this month's FunTimes from dp. This is the last paragraph

Please visit www.dorneypark.com soon for all the details on new
attractions for the 2004 season! Information on the new 2005 attraction
will be available in late 2004.

I couldn't be happier about this. I'm still hoping for a Huss Giant.

A new flat or two would be nice, but remember that "new attractions" could mean food stands or shows.

...or additions for the kids in Camp Snoopy. Lesson #1 - never get too excited about "new additons" until they're formally announced.

Even new food stands would work it for me. And so would some rides for Camp Snoopy. That just ups Dorney's points for family atmosphere and rides. Another sit down restaurant like Macaroni's at CP would be awesome and so would another show. (It would be nice if they got some kind of aquatic stadium)

I would even think that more water slides may be added.

I agree with Fury, I wouldn't mind to see 1 new attraction at WWK. Now that WWK is on AT's golden ticket award list, I hope Dorney is smart enough to add attractions every 2-3 years to WWK to keep it popular. But first, I want a new flat at Dorney and then the floorless cause the waterpark got all the money in 2003.

Also, I think a new flat is very possible since there was rumored to be one for 2003 but they never got one.

was at dp this am, and saw some maintenence workers down by the flat area near sf. they were taking measurements with stakes in the ground. i asked them about it and they said it was prolly a roundy rounder based on the measurements they had.
Ever notice how parks advertise a number of 'rides and attractions?' An attraction is something other than a ride....anything from a game stand to concessions to a new bathroom complex.

Just know that it probably won't be trees and benches.

I really think they should do somthing way down by Laser. The only thing down that way is the Skyscraper a bunch of kiddie rides, one food stand and a bunch of games. A sit down restraunt would be nice down there and another thrill ride.

Why don't they use the other Zypher station down that way anymore?

Hiya,

"remember that "new attractions" could mean food stands or shows".

How true, Greg! It's a bit like the trick parents pull on kids to get them to eat their greens. You know, they hint that there is pudding when, in fact, there is only fruit! It's just wrong:

Fruit does not constitute a pudding and a food stall does not constitute an attraction!!! :-D

All the best

I think they might be able to use another sitdown restaurant between Camp Snoopy and the Laser area. It took four park employees to figure out that they actually had a sitdown restaurant and luckily the fifth (strolling by the other four) knew where the nearest one was. I wish I would have got her name. I liked her a lot and she was really enthusiastic.

I couldn't agree with you more. If theres one are of the park that needs development, it is definately down by the Laser and the Tot Spot area. To be honest, I couldn't even tell you what is beyond the Laser, I've never ventured down that way. Not like I would need/want to because its just kiddie rides. That area is definately "dead" and they need to breath some life into it. I didn't even know there was another Zephyr station down that way. Goes to show how many time I've been down that way. As far as I know, its just the Laser grove, a set of bathrooms, the Dragon coaster, the Little Laser, the silly shack, and some kiddie rides down that way. I'm not even sure how much room they have beyond that though. If they bought that War memorial land like the paper said, I believe that would leave them room to expand up that way.

Dont you hate the word "attraction". Its just a cheesy way for park to combine exhibits, structures and things like that with true rides to allow them to advertise we have 1,000 attractions when they only have 30 real rides.......
Do I hate the word "attraction"? When I'm at Disney, Universal, or Busch park... Not really. It's actually a fairly important aspect.

they will probably expand the park up in the talon area and use the new land as a parking lot. the second zephyr station gets used during holloweekends.
