The teal does seem to go with the yellow and pink but definitely does not match with the Voodoo logo. Teal is a relaxing color. The pink and yellow are happy, beachy colors. Together= bad color choice for a ride that is supposed to "possess" you.
I'm thinking that since the Dorney PR guy who writes the Voodoo blog said they "finally knew" (or something similar) the colors of Voodoo's supports only when he took photos of the pieces arriving in their lot ... well ... I'm thinking that corporate probably made those choices.
The odd part is that it's my understanding that the ride websites are done through corporate as well - so where the disconnect took place I don't know.
There's a new blog entry, and new pictures. The scale mold of the Voodoo logo is prety cool. It would be cool to be able to have that after they were done with it. Turn it into a hood ornament or something. ;)
Seeing a completed seat frame, I don't think I've ever seen such a mishmash of colors. And when you combine it with the rest of the ride, it should be interesting to say the least to see how it all looks at the end.
i don't know why ppl are complain about the colors and stuff... look on the main voodoo page: http://www.dorneypark.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill_rides/voodoo/ you can see part of the ride.. it looks good it looks fun to ride why complain... it costs alot of money to build one of these rides just be thankful for a new ride. also there are some new pictures on that site as well as a new blog.
Seth, I have no complaints with the ride itself. I've ridden it already at its old home, and I've ridden V2 at SFGAM and Wicked Twister at CP. They're awesome and a lot of fun. I wouldn't argue that it costs a lot of money to build a ride, even if its used.
But, from what I've seen so far this is violating the common practice of sticking to a few colors when painting a roller coaster. Two or three colors is usually plenty enough. And the trains usually match up to the roller coaster. I just think it's going to look messy in the end. Who knows, I could be wrong.
