Dorney Park 2008 - Voodoo

Since the ride started to go up this week I went out and snapped a few photos of what they've done thus far.

That's pretty much the supports and track for the station area, and the electrical building is up.

More photos from today. They put up more track and supports this past week. They're also currently building the station. They are definitely using the station from Geauga Lake - they've painted it and half of it is already up.

Hopefully next week the tower will start to go up!

Voodoo's holding brake tower is now going up. Here's some photos:

This really makes me appreciate Vertical Velocity's location at SFGAM. Not that it will be boring by ANY means... but this flat location is kind of a turn-off...

The holding brake tower is now pretty much done. Today it looked like they were putting on the individual holding brakes. The ride is pretty impressive looking now that it's at it's full height on one side. Here are some pics from today:

It looks like they added a new higher support-piece to the back tower, or was this added at GL? I can't find any pictures showing this section.
^ Additional supports were added to all standard Intamin Impulses in 2004.

2012 SFGAm Visits: 26 2012 Season Whizzer Rides: 84 X Flight Rides: 91

^Thanks for your answer. I have a close-up picture of the back spike of V2 at SFGAM from 06', and it looks like the supports always existed. But, in another picture of the front spike, it's easier to tell that something has been added since the new supports are slightly darker.
You know,in watching footage of voodoo's construction something is somewhat puzzling to me.Since the ride has such a simple layout when compared to most coasters why not have two cranes & crews working at each end to assemble the vertical spikes instead of having to complete the rear spike first before starting on the front?
^It would cost them a lot more money to have two cranes plus extra crew (who are most likely union), so economically, it makes absolutely no sense. Since they're in no danger of not having it finished in time, that's a significant cost savings to Cedar Fair and/or Dorney Park.
i am really surprised how fast its going up. i wonder what kind of landscaping/theme they have in mind?

So where exactly is this located in DP? Is it like en route to Laser? Also, I remember on the podcast when this was first announced, Jeff mentioned something about this being located by the bridge (which was by a parking entrance), is that same entrance going to exist this year? Thanks for anyone's answers!
its near the laster/ monster... not sure exactly where it is but its by there... i know that the webcam comes from on top of domintor and if you look in some of the pic u prob can guess where it might be located

Good call on checking the webcam, I'll have to do that soon! Thanks.

i mean any type of landscaping ... does not matter could be concrete, trashcans, any like skulls or stuff ... just overall theme/landscaping look for the ride... we all-ready know the theme for the ride.. VOODOO (skulls) now its just whats the surroundings of the ride going to look like?

My guess... mulch.. some more mulch.. a medium sized boulder.. a shrub and the trademark CF black fencing.
Do any of the other impulses have the catwalk attached to the track. If you look at the curve you can see it on both sides. I guess I've never noticed it on SV and VF.
They've started on the twist tower, and the station is seeing more work as well. Pics:

Also, on the Rider Safety Guide on the park's website Laser is missing. Not good!
