Do you remember CB in 2000?

I joined back in the Fall of 2000, not sure exactly when. I just remember thats when I started really getting into coasters and searched for them on msn, and came across Cbuzz. I was under the name mfcrazyrider. Anyway, the biggest changes I've seen is that for the most part Jeff has got everyone using correct grammar. Another thing is that it seems that the boards move really quick right now and a lot of people just post to put their name and opinion up on the site, rather than read through the posts and put in an intelligent reply.

I've been here since day 1.

I remember when CB was ONLY forums.

There was a seperate forum for almost every park.

I joined in May of 2000 and I can't even remember how I stumbled across this great site. I must have been surfin' the web for coasters after my first ride on Millennium Force (also May '00). I don't remember it being a whole lot different back in 2000.
I joined in Nov. of 2000 and I remember when this site was yellow. That's about it though.

I joined the site in Sept of 00. I didn't even know what the forums were. In fact, I didn't even find them for a LONG time after I joined. I was always really heavy into the rumor section and the headlines. Once I got into the forums, I really got worried about myself then... I would come home from work, and it would be the first thing I checked out on the internet. I kept up with all the talk on here like crazy untill I realized that it was just getting to be too much of a part of my free time. I put the forums down and just kinda lurked for a long time (as I do now) and posting only when my view on a topic is relevant or I really know something for sure to add to the conversation. (Never adding facts that I don't know 100% for sure about.) Thanks Jeff and all the mods for the site. It was the reason I actually got off my butt and went to CP, SFWOA, and PKI for the first time in my life in '00. :)

January 31 2000? You gotta be kidding ... seems like I've been coming here half my life (which would be closer to 20 years).

I, too, came over here from GTTP, which I found through a Cedar Point search on Yahoo (that'll give you an idea of how long ago that was - I haven't used Yahoo since well before the turn of the century). I guess I was also one of the first on that - still wonder whatever happened to Airtime205 ...

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.

While my profile doesn't say it my earliest memory of coasterbuzz was a rumor to a boomerang coaster coming to SFGAm in the early fall of 2000. I found the site off of Ask Jeeves if I remember correctly. I think my name used to be Coasterspaz but I'm not sure, I had to change my name because we got a new computer andI didn't know my password for the other name and I lost my e-mail account. Long story short though, I think a lot has changed and thanks Draegs that site brings back memories eh? I forgot all about the yellow background.

I've been here for longer than my profile says. For some reason, my old account "Brandon Rodriguez" stopped working and I had to re-register as BrandonR. The old yellow layout!

I joined July of 2000 and still visit every once and awhile. I post very seldom but I love to read other people's comments.

I know I viewed it a few times in 2000, but I didn't register for the boards a couple months ago while doing a report on coaster safety for English class, and also because of my age. Trust me, I'll be here a while.

I've been here since before the beginning. :) I did a little search on Cedar Point on Yahoo back in the fall of 1999. I came to a little page that would either direct me to GTTP or Coasterbuzz.I remember back in the day when people wouldn't complain about the lack of something, but were gracious for the ability to have access to such up to date info.

Yeah, I joined Cbuzz then same day I joined Danimation. June 27th, 2000. Even though I post more on D-net, I am more partial too Cbuzz because this site is all rollercoasters... and I hope it stays that way too... when Dnet went from "everything RCT" to "Anything amusing" it started to become trashy. But it's all good.

I have been lurking around since very early last year finally joined in July.

I have learned a number of things.

No matter what he does people will always think Jeff is a bastard.

No one ever reads the TOS and if they have a post closed they have to post 5 other posts asking where it went.

Any post that says anything about being gay is bound to be closed as people just can't look outside their own little world.

People will always wonder what CP is building next year and when Kennywood will close.

And finally Shaggy know's entirely too much about PKI then any human should possibly know.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

I remember 2 years ago one of the first posts I read was about the so-called Cedar Point bias of the site. Guess some arguments never end. ;)

Another interesting thing, I've been here 2 years and I'm not even over 100 posts, guess that puts me just above lurker.

"Hurry up and get out, before you see yourself coming in!"

I've been here since day 2 :) It's been ages, but I believe I came over here from GTTP. It's amazing how much this site has evolved in that time (although as SyntaxError points out, some things never change)

My page

i stumbled on to coasterbuzz while looking for information on goliath which had just opened.i have been 2 or three screen names since then. before cb i had never heard the word coaster enthusiast. i loved coasters but i only knew about the ones i had ridden (all in california). this site instatly transformed my into a full blown enthusiast. now i have to check cb 5 times a day just to see if some new coaster was announced or what intresting threads have been started. im addicted. i love cb for the information, the different opinians and just because it lets me be in contact with people that love coasters as much as i do. By the way Jeff i dont always agree with you but i want to thank you for giving us cb. you started a good thing.
I'm getting verklempt.... tawk amongst yourselves.....

I think the site has changed immensely.

It's understandable due to the rise in popluarlity, but there definately was less "noise" back in the day. I'm sure less members = less noise, though. With that said, the mods currently do a great job for what I'm sure is not an easy task.

I did look back at some posts and topics that were 2+ years old, and this thread brought back nothing but fond memories of discussions past.....Deja Vu, Millie, countless rumors....

Wow! I was mentioned in a positave way in the original post ***sniff*** I feel so loved!

I must admit, CoasterBuzz (in 2000) was a big part of the reason I am an enthusiast today. (Damn you Jeff!!) I love the site and am proud to have one of the lower member numbers of all current posters. I hope the Buzz is going as strong in another 2 years. (or 10 years for that matter)
