I HOPE he's working on a patch to fix the bugs that are causing crashes and hangs first. Then I HOPE he gets a nice decent vacation to recharge his batteries.
And *then* I HOPE he starts work on an expansion pack and adds the things we've all been asking for for YEARS: more flat rides, more thrill rides, more queue line colors, more path options, more color options, and more theming objects in the already established themes (and maybe an additional theme or two). And maybe add back the things he removed.
Um, that's what expansion packs are for. Why throw everything into game 1, and shoot yourself in the foot as far as what you can add to the next game? This is still a business you know.
As far as I'm concearned, the game is wonderful, and there's more than enough good stuff here to keep me busy over the off season(the Intamin track alone makes the game for me).
Yes the Six Flags parks are incomplete, now get off your butt and start building what's missing, get it? ;)
btw, I love it when people say they have a right to their opinion, yet don't grant others the right to an opinion on *their* opinion.

"Escuse me, can you tell me where the heck the Mystery Lodge is"?
guys, just ignore jeff, he likes to argue for the sake of arugeing, and then deletes post to prove he is king of coaster buzz, much like this one will get deleted.
Jeff, i did mention most of the things you mention, and i said yes there are some great features, i will haev to aruge with you about the peep AI, in my 'food' courts that are in the six flags parks there are like 50-75 people just walking around in a circle, it too my mechanic about 5-10 min to navigate a 3 tile wide path to find my ride that was only 5 or 6 tiles away from him(he kept walking in circles), peep AI is really lacking, aslo i had a 1 tile path that made a L turn into a 2 tile path, at the corner of the L was a entrance for a ride that was open, the people reluctant to make the turn for some reason all went straight onto the queue but did not ride the ride, just walked the whole queue and walked back, ill take a SS if i can.
overall, yea its a sweet game, but jeff all this scenery just looks pretty, it offers very little in the way of actual gameplay i mean building a house around my ride offers nothing in the way of excitment and the peeps dont care, so just spending more money....great for replicas but little in the way of gameplay.
Yes, why not ignore the man who organizes these forums? Gee, I wonder why my user name got deleted?
I don't have a copy yet, but I am looking forward to it, and also looking forward to a break from you whiny brats complaining about a bunch of stupid flat rides 10 minutes after you get the game.
Also: Though we may like to see a CF edition, it probably won't happen for the simple reason no one knows who cedar fair is. They could call it CP edition, but that park isn't really nationally known by the GP. I could see disney edition, but that would probably suck, since the parks suck, lol.

I think that this game is a worthy sequel, it's just that since so many of us are 'knowledgeable' of the many different options and technology in the real industry, we might feel like there could be so much more.
Keep in mind this is a game for everyone, not enthusiast edition or something. I think that for a game-stance there is so much stuff to keep everyone busy for years.
I know that I was still playing RCT1 weeks before the sequel came out.

The new game is fantastic in my opinion, and I'm holding down fine with their selection of new rides. Things that I really enjoy in this game is simply the peep interaction and the thought that Chris has put into the gameplay perspective.
The peeps will stop and just watch a ride, or if a ride is being built they will stop and take pictures. Another cool thing with the peeps is that with some, they'll watch the ride, enter the line, watch the ride some more, and then decide not to ride because it looks too intense. Just like the real deal. Its almost too bad I can't figure out how to put in a chicken chute ala Orient Express.
Gameplay wise everything is just much more fluid as soon as you get used to it. I admit the first couple of hours I was muttering about how stupid the new interface was, but now that I'm used to it the old way almost seems archaic. Another minor tweak that made me smile was the guest favorite organizer in the attraction menu where you can automatically get an idea of which ride is the parks favorite. Very cool.
I was a little saddened by the decision to not put in duel loading platforms for the flume but with the number of boats and the fact that I can set up my station ala White Water Landing at Cedar Point I've been pretty good with going without the duel loading station.

Good point, I am still playing RCT... and it's not a bad game, I mean if you look at the original RCT w/o expansions, it sucks, but with them, it is a great game. RCT2 is a great game alone, so with expansions, it will probably be an awesome game!

Geez guys give the game a chance. It's the little changes in life that are the most difficult to take. I've had the game all of 10 hours (after convincing the cashier I was over 99 years old), and have played for only about 2 hours. Even so, I am convinced it is better. I will learn the "new" functions, just like I learned the original.
I will gladly give up the 12 walkway types for the ability to stack scenery, add blocks, build coasters outside of the game, etc.

Question:
In the "Coaster Design Workshop" can you build ANY customizable ride in the workbecnh environemnt,or are there limitations.
In other words if you just wanted to fire the game up and build a 4th Dimension coaster, you could go into the coaster designer and have at it. While in the Coaster Deisnger to you have access to theming elements to spruce up your coaster?

The mountain building tool IS in the Scenario editor. I am assuming that you mean it has been removed from the actual game play area? I've always thought it was a useless tool during actual gameplay anyway. It's VERY useful in the Scenario editor however, and it IS there.

Yes, they removed it from the actual game-play.
And you thought wrong. I use it all the time when playing scenereos. It's VERY useful. In fact, I was hoping that since it's a sequel/expansion, that it would ADD to the features in this area (like creating a 'leveling' tool, as in SimCity), rather than *removing* useful features.

Well, Spry, I'm sorry it was removed if you used it alot. I just found it to be less than useful in general, primarily because it could be so costly to use when generating landscapes.-----------------

It depends on how you use it. I'd use it to 'smooth out' areas. And you had to be careful. I'm pretty sure he "broke" this tool with the Loopy Landscapes pack. It use to be usable anywhere, because it would "stop" at a break in the ground (so if you had a building or tunnel it wouldn't destroy it), but as of Loopy Landscapes, you had to make sure there were no 'breaks', and that the ground was all smooth and continuous. Annoying, but I still found it to be useful, for enlarging or shrinking little "lakes", for example. I'd adjust one square instead of half a dozen, and it'd just end up looking right. Saved a lot of time.
