dissapointed!

is anyone as let down with RCT2 as i am? they switch from the easy red, yellow, red light bulbs to an annoying flag system. they made it harder to access your finances. the whole new interface it just clunky!(ive allready played for allmost 2 days straight!!) although the new features are nice, i am very let down!

rides: i counted 2 new flat rides, that is it! what gives?!? we got more flats in the expansion pack. There isent a HUGE collection of new coasters, they took allot of the old coasters and 're-named' them, ex... the steel hyper twister had 4 diff trains, sitdown, hyper, floorless, standup...all chris did was take the 4 trains and turn them into 4 diff coasters upping his coaster count.

the blocking feature is defanitly the best part about this expansion, but this game does not have the lasting feel that RCT 1 had that made me play it for days on end! Overall i am extremly dissapointed, this feels like RCT gone wrong!

And my last comment, why would chris add 20 new shops\stalls and only 1 new water ride, and 2 new flats? some of the shops are just foolish too!

if anyone has any questions for me feel free to ask here

How realistic is the block system? It looks pretty good to me but i haven't found it yet.

Because I like to shop. :)

chris - Pretty 'underwhelmed' by RCT2, as well.

DJHush: it's natural that you will tire of RCTII sooner than you did for RCT, because the game is not new. The orginal game was a masterpiece, and really unlike anything else out there.

RCT II is just more or the same. (It's the same reason that Raven is better than Legend ;) )

Please, I'm not knocking RCT II .. I haven't even played it yet ... I know I will love it, but I'm just saying that it's not as novel or unique as the first.

im alittle disapointed in the game myself. :( im not knocking it but i was expecting some more new rides in the game.

i do like being able to create the park though w/the editor. id say thats my fav part.

Tisk tisk....we told ya there would be ones that would complain...

Cameron - I don't think that's quite it. Something about RCT2 just seems 'off' to me, but I'm not sure what exactly it is.

There are some cool features that I'm really enjoying, but the game as a whole does not grab me the way RCT (and the expansion packs) did.

Accessing your finances is not hard, just click the button in the bottom left of the screen.

He added more shops because that was easy for him to do, while he has stated in interviews that designing flat rides is one of the most difficult for some reason.

The blocking seems to work pretty realisticly, it takes some getting used to but it adds a lot of realism. It's also optional, you don't have to use it.

I have to say I was hoping for more new elements on existing rides too, like helixes on the water-slide, and more and different elements on the river rapids ride (wider turns, helixes, s-turns, fountains, water-falls that went *across* the track instead of just next to it, rock-walls for canyon-like effects, etc) and other things.

Can anyone report of any of the existing rides like the above got anything added?

I just got the game and so far my only gripe is it takes forever to load when you play it. As for anything else it's too early to say what I think about anything else.

Chris was nice enough to create a new RCT. What makes the game terrible is that it's sponsered by the Six Flags Corporation. -What a discrace. You think it would be sponsered by a park chain with quality. The perfect expample: Cedar Fair L.P. -Can you imagine if Cedar Point was featured on RCT 2?! Talk about awesome! Maybe Chris will consider the Cedar Fair parks for RCT3!

Please tell me that you are joking. I gurantee that Chris Sawyer did not fail to add flat rides because it was Six Flags Edition. The only part Six Flags had in it was liscensing their names and coasters to the game. Dear Lord. As if bashing the real six flags 24/7 isn't enough, now we have to bash the computer game edition of Six Flags, which as stated above they really had nothing to do with. Please.

I think we might be able to see some new flat rides in the expansion pack. I REALLY hope we do because I think that's what RCT needs the most! However, I feel that the improvements made are definately a very good starts.

Oh and if you're that disappointed, I'll pay for you to ship it to me. My address is...:)

That would be cool if some giant Huss rides were added, are there any already?

oh, im not knocking the game. it is great. im just alittle disapointed that more flats and all werent added to the game. i mean why do we need all those stands?!? throw in some new flats instead of a stand. once the rest of you get a copy you'll agree. but its still fun, and is better then the first in alot of ways. back to playing...i mean studying for my midterms lol

The interface is much improved. There are a hundred little things that add up. For example, shift-dragging to start a station over ground, handymen don't cut grass by default, etc.

I can see it now, Morgan Hypers, white concrete pathways, S&S towers, and trims on woodies (and sometimes steelies) as far as the eye could see. My homepark is Cedar Point, I love the park, I love the new ride additions, but I don't like the stupid rules that have been implemented in the last few years.

Try a small park that has character ;).

I have had the game for 2 days now and I think most people will feel the way I do. THE GAME IS GREAT!! That said, I am myself a little underwhelmed. I think it has to do with a fact stated earlier: This game just doesnt have that novelty like the first and it doesnt make you say "Wow, I have never played anything like this!"

RCT2 gets my vote for game of the year. It is better than RCT1. Will I play RCT2 additictively like the original? Probably not. There are frankly not enough new rides, features, updates to give it that whole new game, leaps and bounds over the original feel. No person here who enjoyed the original can say RCT2 is a bad game. But most people here will be a little underwhelmed with the fact that this game does have the feel of expansion pack 3.

That was a very cheap shot at attacking Six Flags. Let me tell you why Cedar Fair, L.P. isn't in contract with Infogrames for this game. BECAUSE IT IS NOT A NAME BRAND. No other regional theme park chain (and outside of the U.S.) is more popular and more known than Six Flags.
