Dippin' Dots: Miracle or Rip-Off?

They're $5 for a large here now... I love em but there's no way I'm paying $5 for a cup where I could buy a full meal for the same amount.

Just like almost everyone else has said, I love Dippin Dots, but they're way too expensive. Here at SFDL they're $3.75 with tax. I usually get one when it gets really hot, then another before I leave. I think a lot more people would buy a lot more Dippin Dots if they were cheaper.

I guess its not just me.  YUCK!  I had them once at a mall, and never again will I buy one.  I prefer Soft Serve.  Its slogan should be:  "Ice Cream for those who is stupid enough to pay our high prices for a cup of ice cream balls when they can get a large cup of Soft Serve for practically the same price.  So join us in 2001 as we still rip people off and raise the price next year!"

Dip N Dots are a great idea, but they are way too expensive like stated a dozen time. I think if they just lower the price a bit they will get a lot more sales and it'll seem like they never dropped the price, with the amount made. I just love them especially when I'm workin on them at SFDL I always take a hundred spoon fulls of a flavor. :)

dippin dots are great but i wont pay the price
I love Dippin' Dots. They taste good on a hot day.

The price is a rip off, but I would rather have a cold treat then nothing at all.

i like them but you can get regular ice cream thats much better for much less
I agree they are expensive. But your buying them at the same place it cost 4 dollars to buy a bottle of pop. what more do you expect?

I hate dippin dots. I only had them once at CP. Had the banana split flavor. As someone else said, they didn't taste like any of the ingredients in the banana splits I have had. I would much rather have a scoop of hard ice cream in a waffle cone. Now that is what ice cream is all about.

"Looks like you've been missing quite a bit of work lately"
"Well, I wouldn't say I've been MISSING it, Bob."

Rip off. One of the most repulsive things I've ever tasted. I still think of all the good things that $3.00 could have got me instead.

everything's better with a banjo

So that's what they are. I always  thought they were hot dogs on a stick, you know, the sausage which is deep-fried with a crispy cover, that have been cut up into bits - dots. Thought they would resemble brown cheesy puffs & you dip 'em in sauce, hence the name dippin' dots.
i love dippin dots. some people here say it's overpriced. have you ever been to the supermarket lately, bub? try getting that breyer's ice cream for under $5.00? WELCOME TO THE 21ST CENTURY, WHERE ALL ICE CREAM IS OVERPRICED. DEAL WITH IT.

Ah, but that Breyer's ice cream will feed you for ages (and if you hunt it down on sale, it's not that expensive. My local supermarket chain frequently sells it "buy one, get one free", and my local branch of said chain will let you just buy single items at half price in BOGO sales)

But I digress.  As for Dippin Dots, I'm not a big fan of them.  I prefer "real" ice cream, be it soft serve, or something like Kennywood's Dip Cone.  Of course, I try to make it a point of eating a park's "specialty" foods anyway, especially at places like Kennywood or Knoebel's.  I can get Dippin Dots anywhere (if I wanted to), but a Dip Cone is a Kennywood (and sister park) thing.

I think we are all missing the MAIN purpose of the Dippin Dots stand.  The only reason parks have Dippin Dots is so they can have their most informed employee there just waiting to answer all our questions about the the ride they will be getting next year.

We all know if you want information about a new ride the Dippin Dots guy/girl is the definative source!!!!

Dippin dots arew pretty cool.  you know they ship them in liquid nitrogen? I was talking ot the girl at the dippin dots stand at the mall. pretty cool eh? whats why they're so darn cold at first.
Dippin Dots are a waste of money in my opinion, the amount of ice cream that you actually get is ridiculous, and you have to pay $3 for them. And I must have to agree with Chitowns daughter when she says that "Dippin Dots are nasty".
