DejaVu leaving SFOG?

I know it would be a big project, but I would think (and damn that hurts sometimes) that the 2nd lift (after the vertical loop) could have LIMs (the train has a good amount of momentum there, wouldn't totally depend on the LIMs all the way up).

Now those trains. UG!!! They're a wreck (sorry SFOG). And dangerous - almost hit my knee when those seats in front of me swing. I'm sure a new train(s) would be much much better. Even the standard Invertigo train (whether or not minor changes or major changes would need to be made.)

Hersheypark does a cool thing with it's woodie seatbelts. Before you get to the station, on either sides of the que, they have a little 'seat belt station' (anyone gotta picture?) So everyone can at least see how they work. Would be nice to have the same on the Deja Vu's - explain (with nice diagrams, etc.) that the seatbelt goes on first, then the harness. Maybe even have some seats set aside for people to 'play with'.

An easier method to the seatbelt first, OTSR second, would be to have the OTSR's stay up in the lock position. After the belts are checked, the rideop can hit a release button for people to pull the OTSR's down.

8 Visits to SFOG - Never seen Deja Vu Run

2 Visits to SFMM - Never seen Deja Vu Run

2 Visits to SFGAm - Actually got 1 ride

LOL!

4 visits to SFOG - open all 4 times

8 visits to SFGAM - open 6 times

2 visits to SFMM - open 1 time (being built the other)

Rode all 3 of them once, and that was all I needed.

I've only been to one of the parks that has one, SFMM, and it was open the day I went.
DejVu is the second best coaster experience at SFOG.

But I'd love to see it go, waaaaaaay too broken.

It took me four years before I had a chance to try out Vu at SFGAm.

2001 - still under construction

2002 - not open

2003 - valleyed between loop and cobra roll three days before my visit.

2004 - closed

2005 - FINALLY got my credit when I was beginning to get my doubts of ever getting one. Rode it 6 times that weekend as the lines were minimal and I thought the ride was very good. Seating is a little awkward but still.

The only other one I've seen is SFMM's, which was under construction when I was there.

Vu is better than Goliath, Mindbender, AND Superman?

Mindbender and Superman rank higher for me because they aren't extremely mechanically flawed (and therefore more ridable), but If I only had one ride on each, I'd prefer Deja Vu.

Nope, sorry. I rode DejaVu in June at SFOG, waited forever to get on it (on a slow day-every other ride was a walk-on) which gave me plenty of time to study it. I have never in my life seen a ride with so many cables, boxes, pulleys, winches, wires, and other crap, and why? Vekoma had some success with their Invertigo, and it has it's own problems, but why try to one-up themselves with this over-engineered totally complicated version? Hardly an affordable or reliable solution. When we finally got to the gate I had to ask some guy standing there with us which seats we were waiting for and how to get to them. Then I saw the sign on the back of certain seats warning us of broken legs if we had them in the wrong spot at the right time, and I kinda yelled to my friend seated next to me (not really- he was like a mile away only in the same row) something like "They're kidding, right?" He yelled back "I don't like this already" and sure enough we pretty much hated it. The ride was rough, intense not in the fun kinda way, I felt like I was riding by myself, and from my seat it looked like each and every track tie was gonna smack me in the face.

Well at least I got the credit-friends had told me (like the testimonies here) that it was a hard one to get. I believe the thing ran all day without going down once.

That is why you always grab a "B" seat on the DV train. The only "A" seat that is fine is the very front (1A).
