DejaVu leaving SFOG?

Care to enlighten us about your not returning since you pretty much defend SFMM?

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

^^^The speculation is that they are waiting for HH to close for the season so they can store the construction equipment on that side of the trees during the decon of the ride.

and let's just say I won't be back again this year and probably for 2008 as well.

Welcome to the Dark Side, krax! lol :D

Here's a little sampler that is one of many a straw that finally broke this camel's back two days ago.

Ten (I counted twice mind you) ride operators stationed at Scream's loading platform. Two train operation. Only two operators checking restraints. The other 5 or 6 that weren't manning the operator panel were goofing around, eating ice chips out of paper cups, laughing, and carrying leisurely conversations. The entire time I was waiting in the station area of the queue (so what I witnessed), they were stacking trains. TWO TRAIN OPERATION, STACKING repeatedly with 10 employees on duty.

I could also go on about the blistering 95-degree weather and misters in some lines not working...or ONE parking lot tram for the hundreds of people waiting out in the sun in the carpark. Or maybe the 5 employees in the Flash Pass Center with only one of them working -- at ONE open register of three...while a large line was forming out of the building and under the hot sun.

On a positive note...the park is now saturated left to right with new advertisements. [/sarcasm]

^But at least X was smooth, right? ;)

But about that DejaVu coaster....... where do you think it will be relocated to? (NOT Michigan's Adventure! :))

Uhh, Krax?

Hasn't that been the case for this park for years? I can understand your disgust but when others brought up the very complaints you just posted, you were usually the first to come to the park's defense.

Yes, I usually would first come to the park's defense. Not. N. E. More. :)

So...get off my back.

Come on kRaX...you can't go from vigorously defending the park to saying you're not going back and not expect a little good-natured ribbing ;)

I've never been terribly thrilled with DejaVu. I've ridden the one at my home park. SFGaM, about three times over the years. The wait on weekends tends to be horrible, and the only time we ever lucked out was when they needed two riders and stuck my hubby and I in the front seats. Front seat and back seat were alot of fun, but I've never thought it was worth all the hype surrounding the ride.

Not to say it isn't a lot of fun =)

I would be a bit sad to see it go though, despite the joking about it in the park with my friends. It tends to get good lines and lots of attention.

Watch out for flying maps!

Wow. Even kRaX has thrown in the towel on SFMM. I think that just leaves the birds a-chirpin'.

I sure which someone---anyone---could lead this park out of the morass it's found itself in.

8 Visits to SFOG - Never seen Deja Vu Run

2 Visits to SFMM - Never seen Deja Vu Run

2 Visits to SFGAm - Actually got 1 ride

Not a good record for me, huh?

Good riddence...I thought it was one of the worst engineered rides I've ever seen (not that I'm a real engineer...I just play one on TV) Don't get me started on those trains!!

Yes, I honestly believe it was a miracle that Deja Vu ran a full day-1/2 last year while at SFGAM, while V2 went down for a little while. On our two rides on DV, my friend and I were just thinking about all the people who've been to all three parks in the states and never once gotten the credit.

I do agree that the trains could use an upgrade. Besides the enormous lower square section of the OTSR which I hit my chin on returning to the station, the inside seats are not very desirable as they're quite claustrophobic. If I were to ride it again, it would either be the outside wings, or the front seat again.

The ride is open a lot more than people can imagine. Now whether they want to wait in a long line is up to them. *** Edited 7/27/2007 3:52:09 PM UTC by Spinout***
^ The line wouldn't be so long if it was open and not such a rare occasion for it being open. The name of the ride speaks for it self..."Damn, this is really Deja Vu.. I coulda swore this was closed last time too"

Yeah, that'd be a good point if it weren't for all the wonderful coasters out there that are open virtually all the time.

I mean "open a lot more than people can imagine" isn't exactly the standard I look for in a coaster.

Deja Vu is the best thrill at SFGAm, and still has long lines. The inside seats are a little strange, but there's nothing wrong with the outside seats. They'd be crazy to close it now that it runs consistently.

Get rid of Iron Wolf, please, and then deconstruct the Demon after the second loop.

^ If they get rid of those to, average wait times will soar up though. They usually dont have lines.
I've been on both SFMM Deja's and SFGam. I really do believe that they are worth all the trouble. There is always a line at least for SFGam (Homepark-sort of,summer only) Otherwise it's SFStl. Anyways, I think it would be very bad if they took them out. It's such a fun ride. When I rode SFMM's Deja about 4-5-6? years ago, I thought it was a very good ride. It was actually open, unlike X. I still haven't gone on X. Psht, oh-well! Magic Mountain sure sounds like its going straight down the tubes. I really sort of hope that all parks in the Six Flags Corp. chain was ran as well as they run Great America.

Keep Deja Alive! 1A Best seat in the house!

I believe it was originally supposed to have LIMs. Unfortunately, that's (apparently) easier said than done.

I know they wanted to do that on the Invertigo rides (and built the prototype with LIMs) but was this the case with the Giant Inverted Boomerangs also? I didn't think it was.

Rick.

Nothing to see here. Move along.
