Deja-Vu and the "UGLY" wooden platform.

Show us proof!!!

-----------------
""To be the man, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!, You got to beat the man""!!!

That wouldn't make sense in the first place. If the other two Deja Vu's (not to mention the GIB in Spain) were designed by Vekoma, then why wouldn't an exact clone of those 3 GIB's be designed by Vekoma as well?

-----------------
So Far So Good...So What?!

Chitown, it's right there! You're truth is right in front of you! Didn't you see, he said 'but its true." So it must be true! ;)

-----------------
Whats more reliable? Deja Vu, or RCT running without a trapper error?

I don't think the wood platform looks that bad actully, in fact I didn't even notice it at first since its right above the station almost. Deja Vu is an awesome ride and I would hate to see it torn down because it keeps valleying, the ride itself is very reliable when its not valleying and once its running it usually runs great the rest of the day. I have no idea what Vekoma and Six Flags are doing but if they are fighting over who fixes it, then they need to agree on some way to fix it because it just makes both of them look really bad.

Yes, Vekoma designed it. They didn't supervise construction. Thats why it got screwed up. Six Flags did the construction not Vekoma.

I knew this would happen. If you don't want to believe it then thats your opinion. But can you prove to me that it ISN'T true?

Guess what, Six Flags (and pretty much every other park) doesn't assemble the rides themselves, but hires in contractors who the manufacturer recommends OR who have experience putting rides together. I know this was the case at Over Georgia. It's not SF's faul at all, really... it's cimply that Vekoma was moving too quickly to get a design out to market without giving proper time to troubleshoot potential problems.

Spacemountain551, you couldn't be MORE wrong. First of all, why the heck would Six Flags build something they hadn't even paid Vekoma For? LOL!

"Here SF, we've sold you 3 prototype suspended boomerangs, now you pay us and go assemble them yourselves, good luck! Oh wait, here's the construction manual, almost forgot"! Give me a break.

I think it looks horrible! It looks very temporary and they are going to add more wood because they are not even done yet! The platform over takes the whole side of the station that yo usee from the midway. I have pictures and as soon as SFGAmOnline.com is back up and running I will post them so you can all make your decsion, for those that havent seen it yet.

Why would bankrupt Vekoma invest tons of money into trying to "fix" the rides and risk spending more than what Six Flags would pay them in the end? I can completely understand both companies' positions on the matter at this point.

Here are some points of intrest for Vekoma

* All rides are rough seems like coasters are just like arrows. Seems like they are related

* Vekoma doesn't really provide good, safe coasters or provide good service

Kyle W, what do you mean 'all rides' are rough? Have you been on Deja Vu? It's as smooth as Raging Bull!

And they don't provide safe coasters? What? Then how are they still around (sort of.) If a company provides a bad, unsafe product, they don't stick around as long as Vekoma has been around.

PEOPLE FOR THE LAST DAMN TIME, SIX FLAGS TRIED TO FIX THE DEJA VUS LKE 5 TIMES NOW. NOTHING WORKS!!!!

Man you guys are either making Crap up or are Very Ill Informed. 1. When the SFOG Accident Occured, Vekoma sent their Eingeneers to supervise the contruction of the other 2 Deja's. How do i know Cuase i was there when construction was going on at SFMM, i talked to the engineers, they had Swiss accents, and they said they where from Vekoma. 2.) Vekoma is at fualt here, if Intamin, or B&M, or Arrow had made this coaster it would have been fixed by now.

Definately agreed Fred Thornton, most definately agreed! Six Flags and Vekoma need to resolve their issues and get down to the bottom of this. Before it gets to be way too late. Oh wait...it has already been one and a half seasons....

-----------------
X Looks Awesome! Oh Yea!!

Fred Thornton -- from out of the blue!!!

What exactly happened at SFOG again?

Vekoma is as much at fault as Six Flags is. Six Flags pushed and pushed Vekoma to develop the ride before they were ready to. The supplied the product for Six Flags late, but all three operated fairly well after they opened last year. Six Flags still refused to give Vekoma the final payment for the ride. So how can you blame Vekoma for not wanting to invest tons of money into fixing the ride? The company is already bankrupt - and if I were in charge at Vekoma, I wouldn't help Six Flags out with the ride, either.

It sucks that DV was given that platform. Maybe they could have every ride valley then use the platform then pull the car back into the station. (note:sarcasm)

Personally, I don't think it looks that bad, but maybe it's different in person. Of course, it nice if they didn't need it at all. Oh well...

When did Vekoma go bankrupt? They applied for bankruptcy protection, but I heard nothing about bankruptcy.

Fred, why would Dutch engineers have Swiss accents? You're story is as belivable or unbelivable as everyone else's.

The truth behind this matter is whatever you make it. I doubt any of us will know the absolute truth, so just pick one theory and accept it as your own truth, but to keep from possible spreding lies, keep it to yourself. Lies are bad, so are rumors...

Well, after riding Deja-Vu after waiting 20 minutes, I was thinking about what they can do so it won't valley. I noticed that niether the cobra roll nor the loop pull that hight of G's. Why don't they just make the towers the whole 200 ft or a little more? This may allow for less valleying and greater g's. The only thing is, would the existing supports withstand this little change?
