Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs?

Okay, this has been bothering me.

On the main Forums page, didn't the RCT forum used to be below the DDR forum?

... or am I just crazy?

It did. Maybe usage w/ RCT 3 coming out made it a better choice for the top.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Regardless I still think your a tad bit crazy for letting that bother ya! ;)

There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!

Yes, given the nearing release of the game, I moved it up.

Whew.

Hi

No wonder I've clicked on the RCT forum accidentally several times. I thought my mouse aim was getting off.

But what about this month's DDR Extreme for PS2 release? :)

Trounced by RCT3's release ofcourse. Everyone knows />3/\/, that RCT is more fun than DDR. :)
RCT = fun for about a month.
DDR = 2.5 years and still not bored.

Funny, Den, but I feel very much the opposite. I get "in to" DDR on a new release, then a month later stop playing.

^Yeah, I'm totally the same way. I haven't played DDR in quite a while now. I got bored with it. Of course, I got bored with RCT, too - but at least that doesn't require me to move :) I'm lazy

I'm the same way as you Den. Although going to the Rct2 forums sure didn't help. I got totally sick of the game after that.

I play RCT a lot because it's hard to go out and find a place to design and build coasters for free in the real world.

I have no problem finding places to dance, though... with much better music, I might add.

Is DDR even really dancing?

In my limited (onlooker) experience, it's more like rythmic stomping.

I suppose that someone could make the argument that dancing is little more than that (and we'll know who the bad dancers are then ;) ) or that certain players freestyle or improvise and turn it more into dancing, but the bottom line is stomping in rythmic patterns in time to the music completes the game. (or is there something obvious I'm missing there?)

In summary, I've spent maybe a grand total of roughly 12 minutes watching others play DDR and never stepped on a machine in my life (nor had the desire to) while RCT has occupied a majority of my game playing leisure time for the past 5+ years.

^ In Japan, it's definitely dancing. ;)

Hmmm, I don't care what it is. RCT and DDR are both fun, and I have yet to get bored with either.

Rob, your signature is making me all warm and fuzzy inside. 8-}

Yeah, Tina, and rob is Tasty too;).

Reminds me of that line in the matrix...

"I know this steak isn't real..."

I thought that dancing was supposed to be more "natural" than "mechanical". That considered, I don't see DDR as dancing... more like stomping as Gonch stated.

But what do I know? I see people jumping up and down on DDR machines and I keep walking. I find myself more drawn to rides when I'm at amusement parks.

Someone once asked me if DDR playing had improved my dancing skills. I promptly answered, "No."

But playing Freestyle definately qualifies as dancing to me, since most of the time it's basically breakdancing.

DDR is definitely nothing resembling dancing.

I absolutely abhor dancing. I hate going to weddings when I know there will be dancing at the reception.

As far as I'm concerned, DDR is just a game you play with your feet instead of your thumbs. I make no effort to make myself look "cool" or natural when I play... I just don't care about that aspect of the game at all.

The reason it's not getting bored to me is that there's still so much to achieve. I remember a year ago that my goal was to pass all the 9-footers in the game. Now that seems easy. I'm working on the 10-footers now, which is still difficult, but next year it'll probably seem easy. I'm also trying to build my AA list... I've got 20 out of 250-some.

Whereas RCT doesn't offer any challenge to me. Most of the scenarios are simple to complete (at least in the first two games). Building coasters is fun but ... I dunno, it just is not something I can do for hours at a time.
