Crazy talk about PKI... Major ride removal??

A certain website has mentioned something of PKI removing a "major attraction" at years end and I'm wondering what anyone might be thinking.

My only guess that falls under this would possibly be Vortex, or even scarier... and at the same time plausible, would be Son of Beast.

Anyone else got any ideas?

The Eiffel Tower? ;)
OOOoooo, good call. Talk about going in a completely opposite direction!
Italian Job.
This already happened. Remember the Flyers?
BYE BYE To Face off!

As long as it isn't Beastie...Since the flyers
left, it's the best airtime in the park! ;)

bill, wonders how come Homey knows ALL the gossip, while I seem to be out of the proverbial loop on everything....argh!

Take a look around the park.

What rides just got repainted? History says that the fresher the paint on a PKI ride, the more likely it is to go away!

So which will it be? Face/Off or Eiffel Tower? Vortex is already starting to fade a little. :)

I think it will be ice cream stall #1. (for you RCT fans)

Anyway, I read that on Screamscape too, so let's not get all excited. We all know that most of their information usually 99.9999999999999% is wrong. I usually come here first for any news.

I wouldn't shed a tear if it was Vortex or Face off. What about AE? I haven't been for a few years...

I doubt they would remove the Tower...it's too much a part of their identity.

Come to think of it, Carowinds doesn't have an Eiffel Tower... yet. :)
I don't think that PKI will ever remove the Eiffel Tower. There isn't any ride that could fit nicely into the area. Yeah, it's a big plot of land, but why would they remove their signature structure. It'd be like Cedar Point moving all of their rides off of the peninsula and into downtown Sandusky.

I'd say it's too soon to take out SoB. They've put so much money into it to get it to where it is now, I don't think they'd waste that.

Vortex..... I could see it being removed for a nice B&M looper, but not much else.

I could see Face/Off for the fact that it's a capacity nightmare, but it is a very popular capacity nightmare. That's never stopped PKI before. The Eagles were a very popular nightmare and bye bye to them.

Maybe another Huss Giant looming in the future?

Its Face Off. The ride capacity on it sucks and the park needs a ride where people can get on and not wait 3 hours. Its silly to even think SOB is going to be taken out of the park. Personally I hate the ride but its just plain silly. As for the Tower isn't it a trade mark at all Paramount parks?

Thanks,

I dont think that it would be Face/Off because it is extremely popular, and it doesn't take up any room. I don't think they are ready to give up on SOB, even though it is not that popular. I think that the Eiffel Tower is out of the question. I think think Vortex would be the one to go, and yes, a B&M would look gorgeous right there. I know a lot of GP complains about the ride to me, so I'd imagine, Vortex is probably the lead candidate.
if the world was perfect and pki wasnt out to make a profit i would think SOB would go. What about top gun? its starting to show its age and its a pretty short ride. A could see a really nice terrain coaster built there...maybe a B&M. I would hate to see vortex go, its the only decent mega arrow lopper *** Edited 5/23/2005 9:22:36 PM UTC by jar***
Tearing down Top Gun and adding a coaster there would make AZ a nightmare. I think they are trying to direct crowds out of there, so if they did tear down TG, I don't think that they would add a big attraction there. I'm not sure, but I think that they have 2 trains on TG.
Well, it *could* be Top Gun. While they have been trying to get people away from AZ in recent years, Top Gun doesn't get much ridership for it being so far back. It's just there. A great ride, but never has that long of a line. If they put a people eater B&M there, with a closer station, it theoretically could lessen the amount of people in AZ and be a big hit itself....

If they DO remove Top Gun, it would take PGA's removal of Stealth as the biggest surprise move Paramount has made.

I still say Vortex if it's a coaster.

Vortex? NO!

They just painted Face/Off... it ain't going anywhere.

Many intresting comments. I do have to agree with Top Gun being taken down. The Voretex is still popular, Id say more so than TG and TG is even in the most heavily populated area in the park, Action Zone.

Even though Face/Off has terrible capacity, I really don't think it will be taken down. First of all, you really couldn't put too much in that spot. Mabye a new platform ride, but still. Also, I agree with comments above. Even though the line is forever long, its still popular.

Mabye it will be Congo Falls and suprize us all!
