CP Dueling Coaster Rumour Put to Rest?

This could be a major reason why they are starting the construction so early. They want every possible kink to be worked out before they open it in May. Didn't it only test for like a week before they opened Xcelerator at Knott's? That seems pretty small for a prototype. Hopefully having a good month of testing at CP will prove useful in working out all the bugs.

Actually a few of us GTTP'rs have a nickname already for it. However, I'm not able to share it since this is a family site.

With the tracks pieced together , and the fact that the two connectors for supports are about the same space apart as the connectors on the yellow tower already, I'm willing to bet that we'll be seeing a white tophat with a red launch track and brake run. I should also add the disclaimer since I'm on this site, that I could be wrong, I'm human, and I admit that .

Hey Rob....I thought we might have been right about that on Friday, until I saw twisting red track on site yesterday (saturday). hmmm. you're right about the spacing on the track, though.

BTW, I ran into Monty and Bill yesterday and they confirmed that it is IN FACT, the world's tallest revolving restaurant :-D

Raven-Phile....remember the track HAS to twist to go into the Tophat....otherwise you'd be on the SIDE of the track instead of on top of it....(of course you may be talking about something else entirely, in which case please disregard)....

He was talking about the colors gator. As in the top hat will be white. But doesn't overbank track twist as well?

Ok, Disregarding :)

What I was saying is...Rob said the tophat was white, but I saw red twisting track, which means it most likey is red. Unless they stick with a racing theme, and it's all checkered looking?? who knows.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.

With Xcelerator, they took some of the fins off of the train becuase it slowed to almost a crawl on them.

SM, in no way did I mean to *suggest* that the train didn't come to a stop on the brakes, or that an accident might result. Just when the "first train" leaves the brakes to come on down to the platform, it seemed to *routinely* cause some sort of violation, shutting the ride down yet once more. I really liked the ride, and the trains...(well, let's face it, they're some of the est-looking trains out there). But there seems to be some control "issues"....(*thinking* that it'd be better if there was some FLAT track heading into the last block between the main brakes and before the loading platform...). I'm pretty sure CF/Intamin has a plan to correct these *issues*...;)
I cant believe jeff has not said anything yet. please help us out here jeff.
Why would Jeff "help us out" with something as inately obvious as this?

well maybe not help us out but I just thought he would of said somthing by now.
He has a life too. Don't expect him to be here 24/7. Especially on a weekend!

I'd place money that CP's version will have a separate unload and load station, which should help solve the issues Xcelerator has with proximity sensors.

I would bet my right arm it will have two stations ala Millie. 2 stations and three trains. On loading, one unloading, one on the course or brake run. Same way as Millie.

Isn't that what I said?

Moosh, I think Chris Goodsey semi-confirmed that it would, in addition to having longer trains, 3 of them. Sounds like a good deal!

I'm sure with a CP crew, they'll squeeze every but of capacity out of it they can. Perhaps they could spare some Raptor alumni?

Welll, that would be good for CP....as often as they walked people out of the Xcelerator infield, it was like having a separate unload station, only with an "emergency ladder" instead of normal stairs....;). I did chuckle with a couple other guests at KBF when I *snickered* "Leave the ladder there, you'll need it AGAIN".....darned if they didn't. ROSFL, *rollin' on station floor, laughing*...

Moosh I was agreeing and elaborating.

No worries, MagForce.

This isn't exactly on topic, but while we're talking about Millenium Forces's two-station arranegment...

Isn't the third train on MF just for show, and useless for capacity? When I was there, there was always an empty train just sitting in the unload station. They could have gotten the exact same capacity with only two trains. Even the few precious seconds save by the fact that the people geting in don't have to wait for people to get out doesn't hold up, 'cause (what with CP's opperators being so efficient) there were always some seconds where a loaded train would just sit there, waiting for the train on the course to hit the brake run. And there would still be the empty train behind it, just sitting there...

If there's no mid-course block brake to this new ride (which there won't be, if it's just an Xcelerator on steroids), then what's the point of three trains?

Okay, heres the thing about Millennium Force... If there was in fact only 1 station then 2 trains would be fine. With two stations, 3 trains are good. If one train is out of order, then there are still two trains to run. You're sort of right about the 3rd train being for show in the sense that if there was only 1 station then the capacity wouldn't be much different. But again, 3rd train is backup incase one is out. It would be pretty ulgy if a coaster that already has a 1+ hour line was down to only one train.
