Conneaut Is At It Again

Hmmm well it is at 18th place - I don't think they have a chance. Merry Christmas Gonch! ;-)

Hey, I'm the one on the podcast that encouraged people to vote for the park. :)

I'm going to enter the Pepsi thing to try and get a new Mac Mouse. Mine is less than a few years old, and dust has got into the trackball, which is un-removable, and un-cleanable. It's going to cost me about $50 to replace it.

I'd go for the new Magic Mouse (the one with a track pad instead of a track ball), but it only comes as a wireless, and I have read that it is a battery hog.

The point is, I want Pepsi to buy me a new mouse for my Mac. Please vote for me! lol

I've had mine for almost a year now and I don't think I've changed the batteries. Maybe one time, but still. I dont' think it's a hot at all.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Okay, I don't want this side discussion to last too long, but how often do you use that mouse, Tek? I've been considering getting a Magic Mouse. I don't know if I'd like the feel of it. Was it hard to get used to not having pressing action when clicking.

The features look interesting.

$70 for a mouse is out of control. As cool as the Magic Mouse is, it's worth like, $20 to me.

Travis, I'm a pretty heavy user, and I never turn it off. I dont care for using it with Windows 7 as much, so I got a $10 Logitec mouse for Win7, but as for the Magic Mouse, I use it a whole lot, and I think I may have replace the batteries once in a year. I'm also considering getting the new Apple batteries, because I've heard they last even longer.

As far as use, it's not hard at all. The mouse actually clicks when you click it, and it can be set up so that either side you click can be left and right buttons, so that's not a problem, and as soon as you start swiping side to side or up and down instead of scrolling, I think you'll love it.

Having said that, like Josh, I wouldn't have paid $70 for it, but it came with my iMac.

I do like multi-touch, though. I bought a new laptop that came with it on the touch pad. It's pretty convenient.

Just wanted to update the status of the situation.

With 3 days left in the month, CLP is stuck at 18th. Doesn't look like they're getting dick this time unless some miraculous last-minute push happens.

Could the enthusiast community have actually gotten tired of this song and dance?

Or did the general population say "Wait a minute - didn't they get money the last time? I'm not voting for that roller coaster again!"

birdhombre's avatar

Could be... but it also took them two tries to get the Bleu Steak money, so maybe they'll try again. (Is there a limit on how many times a project can be entered?)

Edit: Answered my own question with the FAQ. Not only can you re-submit an application, but the top 100 runners-up are automatically carried over to the next month of voting.
