Over at Screamscape, someone posted pictures of both of these trains at KI. I can't imagine the Gerstlauers on the Racer as one of my friends said after riding Villain a few days before that he'd rather be on the Villain after riding the front-facing side, and that wasn't a compliment.
They may work on the Beast. I mean, the ride is mostly straight track... I dunno what could make the ride worse, those overdone mutant PTCs that are on there now... and I thought our American Eagle trains were bad...
Luckily for me, both of Great America's do have ratchet lap bars, but they are some of the only ones that I know of that don't fall on you. In fact, Viper has a special shock on every lap bar that prevents it from falling. Someone cares over here!
One benefit of the G trains on the Beast would be the lack of headrests... Now how bout some nice lazy boy like MF trains! mmmm!
Is there really a need for a third train on sob? I was there last sat, and the park was packed but there was not much of a line for the ride.
I personaly do not like the g-trains because of the type of lap bars that are used(my knees slam into the side of the bar). I think the best fit would be on the racer if they use them.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Is it possible that KI could be getting Villain and/or RWB? I mean, they are known for wooden coasters and there are no logical reasons to put these on The Beast. I could see the RWB train going on SOB, but I'd say it's more likely Villian was coming to KI than them using these for The Beast (unless I missed where Villian was confirmed to be gone for good).
It would be nice to hear that they're saving one or both, but I won't hold my breath. It's a shame too. After the retracking of RWB, it was fun to ride again. Even Villian was a little better this year.
I'm trying to invent reasons as to why it would be worthwhile to replace the PTCs on The Beast and The Racer for the G-trains. I'm not coming up with anything. I'll be hopeful that Villain is coming to KI. It would be a great addition imo to round out their wooden coaster collection.

Who said anything about Racer? they are going on Beast. The old Legend train may be modified like the MBH trains to fit SOB. The park is very impressed with how they are running on SOB and more important, That there not tearing it up.
I think if G trains can go into the rosebowl at 74mph on SOB, They surely can go 64mph into any turn on the beast without braking. Beast trains are non articulating meaning they either have to slide or twist to negotiate a curve, pluse they have a longer wheelbase.
I see no reason why they would use them for RACER The only turn on the track is the far end and where it meets back up with the outbound run on the return, No articulation needed. Just grease the turns.
Chuck, who was suprised, Almost any place that got new track on Sonny will probably not need any work for next years opening. It was that smooth in those areas.
