CONFIRMED! B&M for WOF in 2006

Trees are disappearing! Machines are ripping them up left and right. Also on the last page of the update you can see that footer casings have arrived. Actually they arrived just today at the site. Makes me wonder if they are going to do anymore ground work or leave it as it is. The area is pretty flat to begin with.

Trying to get a confirmation on when the announcement will be, but talking to WOF PR is like beating your head against the wall.

Swoosh, If the rumors do hold true....

Looking at the (aerial pic)(?), if skyliner, rockin' reeler, and CCoC is removed this is a very large inverted!!! Would you venture to place in Alpengeist territory at a 200FT lift hill height? Or do you think these removals/ride relocations are for upcoming instrumental moves for other projects like the new front entrance plaza most of us have been aching for?

Use your imagination - build your ride

Well we all know how CF loves to put their inverteds near the front gate. I don't know if this means a new front entrance, but they have filed permits for a new expansion to Beat Street. Read into that what you like.

As far as how big the ride will be...no idea yet. Heard rumors all over the place and I am not a gambling type of guy so...

Dammit Swoosh, I thought you and Mooshy knew it all.

I feel so lost now. :(

Joe "oh well" C.

OMG I have a new sig!!!
I doubt they would make a 200-foot Inverted since they already have a hypercoaster...but you can always hope.
That's the most illogical reasoning for anything I've ever heard. They won't build a coaster over 200 feet because they already have one over 200 feet?

Bring that down to a smaller level. Why on earth would a park build a coaster over 50 feet tall when they already have one over 50 feet tall?

Your statement makes no sense at all.

Yes it does, John! I mean, no Cedar Fair park would ever build 2 or more, or, like, oh, I dunno, even four coasters over 200 feet tall! And absolutely none would build more than one coaster over 300 feet!
200ft invert... hmm, "Your ideas are intriguing and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter."
"Your ideas are intriguing and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter."

Thats so weird! I was just reading an old Coaster Dynamix thread where Gonch said that exact same line, in quotations, just like that.

Get out of my Mind, darn it!

There are no hills in Kansas anyways.

Down is the new up.
After riding Alpengeist I'm convinced that B&M inverts just shouldn't be so damn big. That thing shuffled like a Vegas blackjack dealer.

No more 200 foot inverts, please.

And *that* was a more logical reason than "they already have a 200 foot coaster."

Word said: There are no hills in Kansas anyways.

Would have been funny if the park was in Kansas - it's in Missouri. Don't go giving them darn Jayhawks something they don't deserve. ;)

Amen Swoosh!!!!

Besides...we all know it's about the Huskers anyway.... ;)

So Swoosh, do you have any 'gut' on the layout? I am heading to WOF in about 3 weeks and will get to take a look at the what's new-what's missing things then.

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
That plot of land reminds me of what Montu is built on. Does anyone think there might be a possibility of tunnels or man-made trenches featured on the ride? I mean the construction site is about as ideal as possible as far as ground work goes...they have to challenge the construction crews somehow, right? :)

Isn't this a little early to be starting construction for an invert? I mean, it only takes a few months to build one so why not wait until closer to the off-season?

Could this be because of other Cedar Fair projects for next year and them not wanting to stretch their resources too thin? It just seems a bit odd to start construction in mid-July at a seasonal park when the ride doesn't open until next year.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
just to put the final nail in the Floorless coffin.
Look at the delivery tag that starts IC2-E00.... the IC stands for Inverted coaster. http://www.rcdb.com/ig3244.htm?picture=6

This can also be seen here on Sheikra http://www.rcdb.com/ig2662.htm?picture=5 with the DM for Dive Machine

Although what this one means on the Chinese Flyer.....

LC = Lay Down Coaster?

Hmm, Silver Bullet maybe?
This is my last post...cancelling my internet account.

Uh, Bye?
I am guessing the somewhat early start is more due to getting the concrete footers poured before the cold weather sets in, but I might be wrong.

The earliness does seem to indicate that it will be decent sized. I rode Montu last week and really enjoyed the way it's trenched in.

Of course the early start could be related to other, yet unannoucned plans.

I'd place a wager that the early announcement has quite a bit to do with the recent announcements from Wild West World...nothing like competition to keep you on your toes, LOL... ;)
