CONFIRMED! B&M for WOF in 2006

You'd love it to be a flyer? Have you ridden one? I've ridden all three in the US.

Yes Moosh, I have ridden the one at SFOG and I enjoyed it. I have also ridden X at GL, but, that's obviously not B&M.

As a business owner, if it were me, I believe there would be more appeal to install a flyer, since there is only one west of the Mississippi, and that one would pale in comparison to a B&M Flyer. It just seems like that would have 'more bang for the buck' to the general public.

But, before everyone gets riled up, I don't own CF so there thinking could obviously be totally different. Besides, any invert at WOF will be 'unique' to many in the GP that have never traveled to any other park than Adventureland or WOF.

Don't get me wrong, I will be very happy with an invert at WOF and I hope if one is installed that it is as good, or better than SB at KBF.

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

Yeah, but I rode 13 of their coasters. Scream wasn't built yet, I was too tall for Goliath Jr., and Colossus was closed while Scream was being built.

How many SFMM coasters did you get to ride in one weekend? ;)

Am I the only one that was disappointed by SB at KBF? I rode it first Mon in April after going up to SFMM only to find X down. I thought it lacked any real intensty whatsoever. Glad they had a great woodie and Intamin launch otherwise I'd have just rather have spent a second day at MM. *** Edited 7/9/2005 5:03:01 AM UTC by SnakeEyes***
Snakeeyes,

As with any coaster, it relates around personal preference. I personally felt that SB was pretty solid from start to finish. Maybe I hit it on a good day and you on a bad day???

I've heard the same thing as SnakeEyes. I've heard it referred to as a 'kiddy invert'. Just because its not as intense. I've never been on it but, thats just what I've heard.

i'm not sure what to put here..

Alrighty. I'm not sure what you mean my 'yours.' Since I don't live anywhere near Atlanta. But... ;)

O beleive me, I know I'll have fun. I'm just worried about lines and getting everything done in 1 day.

You shouldn't have any problem getting on everything in one day. I go at least once a week , and while the lines are getting longer as July progresses, they are not that bad. Just get there at opening and hit Vu first (later on it will get pretty long). Also I suggest going on S:UF in the evening/night as the line often overflows out of the queues during the afternoon/morning...

After carefully looking at the photos its most likely an inverted. Even though my votes still for the flyer...I will be happy with either. This is what I could glean from the pics. The flyer cross sections stop at the 90 degree box frame. The inverted actually goes past with a tab continuing up a 1/4 length of the spine.

Buy stock in www.midwestgrain.com

Use your imagination - build your ride

But does Vu open with the Park? I visited for the first time this summer and Vu opened a few hours after the park. I hit S:UF first thing to get it out of the way. Then hit Vu later in the day after it opened.

Then again coasterguts and I got lucky with our timing. We kind of just went around the park clockwise for a while and ended up hitting some of the coasters just in time.

Yeah is Good!
I've never seen Vu open at SFGAm. ;) *** Edited 7/9/2005 5:14:57 AM UTC by SnakeEyes***
Until this thread I thought all non-dive machine B&M track was the same. Or is everyone just making stuff up so they can support their own arguments?
I'm 1.5 for 1.5!

On topic. I haven't said much regarding the invert vs. flyer, but I can't imagine a park of WoF's size putting in a B&M flyer before an invert. It doesn't make any sense.

As it's been said countless times before, once right now and probably quite a few times until some people get it, it's been rumored that they were getting an invert for quite some time now. If everything rumored is coming true, why start doubting it now?

Does anybody here really want a flyer over an invert for WoF?

I still can't believe people are debating what kind of B&M this is. When will people listen to us, Swoosh? ;)
Well we all know where you stand Swoosh. ;)

I'm curious if some of the people calling for a flyer really want the flyer or do they want to go against the grain in the hopes that they are right? People wouldn't do that, would they? ;)

Yeah is Good!
When you get a TV show. People beleive everything they see on TV. ;)

i'm not sure what to put here..

Hey, I'm not that stupid! I only believe everything I see on cable news. ;) Whatever

Yeah is Good!

I've made 15 trips this season, and it has opened with the park 13 out of those 15. One of the two times it didn't is because they were changing wheels, not a mechanical breakdown. SFGAm's Vu is very reliable this year...

I would buy an invert before a flyer....prolly a bit cheaper due to the trains and the seat mechnism on the flyer.

By the way...I was very excited to get to ride S:UF at SFGAm thursday, but after I rode it, I wasn't impressed at all. The only things this ride has going for it are its stunning good looks, the pretzel loop, and the fact that i'm a 260 pound guy and i felt like a twig inside the seat...you could easily fit a 300 pounder in there. I wish $hitamin would do the same with their rides...well....when they are open...

Still...best ride at SFGAm is Batman...easily *** Edited 7/9/2005 6:43:06 AM UTC by Number 9***

...it's the same in the sense that B&M and Giavanola track is the same ;)

A handy guide: http://coasterbuzz.com/trackspotting101.htm

Anyway... it's an inverted. While flyer & inverted track is similar if not the same (which I said on page two...) and while I personally find flyers to be fun, if a little low on the intensity meter (but then, isn't SB the same way?), WOF is getting an invert. Play the skeptic card all you want, but it's an invert.

Good for you! You said something on page 2! Here, have a cookie.

Since we're playing the "I said xxx on page y" game, I'll play too!

I said on page 3 that RCDB is calling it an invert and I've never known them to be wrong. Is that playing the skeptic card? If it is, I don't give a flying banana. Why? Because it's a stupid argument to begin with.

An inverted makes the most sense for WoF. They bring in people.
