The date is June 8. The site appears to still be under construction, and I can't do anything to personalize my page. However, I have already registered and donated, and a buddy of mine has already contributed. A few terrific people here at CB have helped me raise over $3200 the past three years. Very much appreciated, friends, and I hope you'll be able to do so again. If anyone wants to check out what's up so far:

I got help form my Co Workers Already so I am off to a good start. This year the Fundraising is being done directly through the GKTW site instead of the 3rd party which has been taking a good 15% cut (and more if paid by Credit Card) of the total funds raised.

I just wanted to ping this topic to let everyone know that it's time to sign up! The site is live, and taking donation. We have less than three months to go, so please jump in!

I managed to get my page set up, and am nearing $500 already. I reduced my goal slightly, as there are several previous donors that are no longer a part of my "circle." But several CB'ers have been generous in helping me out in the past, and I'd love to have you on my train again!

Anybody who needs a bump to their total, PM me.
Edit: And I have no shame about asking for money in my business, so neither should you. ;)

Well I'm only at 10% of my goal, so you know, if you wanted to hook me up, that would be way cool. :)

I have been unable to figure out how to get my own link, but any donations would be appreciated. I will try to return as much as possible back to you as well. I am participating in the Dorney event, and my name is in my old CFK signature.
Mike, I am going to donate to you and Judy during next paycheck. :)

Yikes, the new web interface for donations is really wonkadelic. Here's how I found a direct link to my donation page (as opposed to the page editor): Go to Participant Center, then in the purple box with your goal, click the text link that says "Update personal URLs." Here you can type your name (or whatever text) in the box to get a shortcut to your page, and you can give people that link. Upon seeing my page, I was pleased to see it looked better than the tripped up preview you get with the editor.
And if you're having trouble finding Participant Center, it's probably because you've already visited the page, so the link is now white text on a white background. Mouse over the icons and you can read the link text again.
Anyway, I didn't want this to turn into a web design gripe session, but it seriously was frustrating to figure this all out, so I thought I'd give a heads up to others.
In other news, YAY COASTING FOR KIDS 2014! :) http://support.gktw.org/goto/bryanbird
Okay, this time, it seems to have worked...let's try it out:

Just wanted to post (for anyone that didn't read their emails or did not receive an email) that CFK is working on website and social media issues. Links and the Participation Center should both be easier to access and share.

My main concern is that there's still nothing on my page to enter off-line donations (cash/checks) I usually get a couple of those (although none yet for this year.)

I think they're still working on that. That's the impression I'm getting. Still over 2 months away, so I'm sure they'll figure it out.

I saw it there once but it disappeared..didn't even last the day. And you're doing an awesome job on your fund-raising!

I just can't wait until I'm making enough extra money to be able to donate charities like this. And this one is top on my list!
"The term is 'amusement park.' An old Earth name for a place where people could go to see and do all sorts of fascinating things." -Spock, Stardate 3025
Much better website than before... It's still hard to log in, but easier than it was (after logging in, you have to go back to the park-specific page, refresh, then look for the Participant Center link above "Campaign Progress").
Mike -- Once you're in the Participant Center, there should be an Enter Offline Gift button in the right column with a little green cash icon. I haven't tried entering one yet, but the button seems to work.
Thanks, bird, but I'm having no luck. I can't seem to get into the participant center. When I log in, it takes me to GKTW's main site, and I see nowhere to go from there. I can get to my own page, but there's nothing there either. I'm sure there's something I'm missing or doing wrong, but I tried for about an hour last night while communicating with a friend who's in, and tried again just now. No dice. Again, I have no off-line donations yet.

Yeah, after you log in, it's not obvious that you've successfully logged in. Click your browser's back button twice to get back to the park's fundraising page, and hit refresh. Now there should be a plain text "Participant Center" link in the right column, above the Campaign Progress list.
I *THINK* I've got it, Bryan (correct spelling?) Thanks. More steps than it needs to be, but I'm sure they're doing their best. Just hope the steps don't change before I have to enter anything off-line.

This is my first year participating, can anyone tell me exactly how it works on the day of the event? I will be at Great America in Santa Clara.
I haven't been able to raise a nickel yet, at least not in online donations. My dad is going to send me a check for $150 and that may be all I can manage to raise. The topic of how to handle offline donations has been brought up. I've contacted the person who is supposedly in charge and not heard back from her. It would be nice if my name were on the list of participants but that will happen only if I get some donations! I would have preferred that my dad make an online donation but he is, after all, 92 years old and not really conversant with modern technology so I can't expect that of him.
