I would have sat on Blue Streak for the entire ERT if it weren't for all the Muffelheads in the brake run, station and lift approach. It was the worst of the Muffelheads for the whole weekend. I think I got about 15 or more circuits on Millennium Force. I would have gotten 5 more or so. But, I had to be at the Challenge Golf Course by 8:50am. Which, by the way, was the most fun I've had playing miniature golf in a long time. We came in 2nd place, which didn't get us anything, but the formate of only needing one player on a team to get a hole in one on any given hole made for a dramatic format. Nearly every putt was a nail biter.
The only real problem I had with the whole weekend, was my own fault. Being from Cleveland, I never booked a hotel for the event. I just made it a real long day and recovered on Saturday & Sunday. Being a 2 day event this year, I decided to get a hotel for Friday and Saturday night so I could relax and enjoy the event. Well, because I had never stayed in a hotel during CM, I never knew that it was the same time as Ohio Bike Week. Suffice it to say that my hotel was right at 2 & 250 in the heart of the event. I got very little sleep either night. Oh well, live and learn. Next time I book a hotel for CM, I spend the extra $20 a night and stay closer to the park away from the bikers.

Closer to the park doesn't necessarily make a difference... we stayed at the aforementioned Econolodge, and we had bikers too, lol.
Between that, and the parents who saw fit to let their young children play on the balcony (and hang on our doorknob!,) we didn't get much sleep either, lol.
Still a superfun weekend though :)
(ETA: Did I just say superfun? Ugh...)

FYI, that is a link to Part 1. Toomer appears in Part 4.
Yeah I know I helped record it. ;) But Toomer wasn't the only interesting part of the presentation.
As for t-shirts they were already out of mediums and only had a few smalls left by 10:15am Friday morning.

Lots of bikers at the KOA Campground too. I think this is the first time that Bike Week fell on the same weekend as Coastermania. I don't ever recall it in the past 9 years.
They also coincided last year.
Like last year, this was just the first weekend of Ohio Bike Week which runs June 5 - 14.
If you really want to see a lot of bikers, be in downtown Sandusky this Thur - Sat. (6-11 thru 6-13) There is a huge stage at the foot of Columbus Ave. with bands playing Thur, Fri and Sat nights, including the Earthquakers, a fun band that dresses like Quakers. There is tons of food and vendors and booze (along with cops). Last year on Sat night there were about 25,000 - 30,000 people there. Quite a site for Sandusky.
Oh yeah, Coastermania was a good time, again.
Didn't make it to CM, but went the Sunday right after and the park was dead, for the second week in a row. I never seen CP that dead on Sundays in late may/june, but its great (for me!). 2-3 train waits for MF, Dragster. Walkon Raptor, Mantis, Magnum. Maverick had maybe a 15-20min wait at the times I walked by.
Sunday is the new CM after CM! ;)
Hopefully CP will stay dead on sundays as we may be going there This sunday. Thanks for the reports everyone.

2007 Ohio Bike Week - Sandusky, OH - June 1st to 10th
2008 Ohio Bike Week - Sandusky, OH - June 6th to 15th
It got started after the Ohio State H.O.G. Rally came to Sandusky in 1999 & 2000.
I couldn't find any other dates, but I now know to check it out before booking a hotel.

Being from Milwaukee, it made us feel right at home hearing the roar at CM! this weekend. Made me laugh a little actually.
We can never get away from Harley's or Packer fans no matter where we go. Every week is like bike week here.
Then once every 5 years we have the mother of all bike weeks and it's a hundred times louder than Sandusky Bike Week.
I like to leave during those.
It seems the two groups don't affect each other attendance wise, everyone is either there for bike week, or CM!, but probably not both.

Don't play the "I can't state my opinion card." That's b.s. You can state whatever you want, just don't expect everyone to agree with you.
Well.... after the Lord High Master of this site calls me "annoying" on a podcast, for simply stating my opinion, I beg to differ. Sure, He didn't call me out by name, but the meaning was there.
And **** Walt. Mr. self-righteous egotistical jackass who thinks he's better than everyone else because he admins a freaking CP website.
Go ahead and ban me..... enjoy my $20 to help with the podcast...... Hopefully you can keep doing a good thing for the CB community.... I am glad others are getting enjoyment out of it.
At least Gonchar has some freaking sense....

Thanks to all of you whom did not come back in the park for Saturday evening's ert.... I was able to get 10 rides on Raptor in an hour and 5-6 of those were re-rides.
You're welcome! XD
We had enough rides on Raptor and Blue streak earlier in the day, and my dad did not want to drive home after midnight.

It's either pretty egotistical of you or you have some low self esteem issues if you have to assume that you are THAT important. "You're so vein, I bet you think this song is about you, don't you?"
Besides, he could have been talking about anyone. lol

Even Gonch would probably tell you that that's debatable.
Sorry to butt in, but that attitude irks me a little bit. (Teary eyed) Kinda reminds me of myself a few years back, except not as bad...lol

Bitter, party of one: your table is ready.
Speaking of CoasterMania! 2009, I never mentioned this here on CoasterBuzz...
I'm experimenting with an external video hosting service...
Jeff was kind enough to post the audio of the CoasterMania keynote; if you want to see what it looked like in an underlit convention hall, my video is now available at http://blip.tv/file/2242641 . Once the video has loaded, you can use the chapter pull-down on the right-hand side of the controller to jump to any of the presenters.
Sorry, it does not include Bryan's Magnum tribute video.
(and I am working on encoding the video of the CoasterMania '99 keynote, but that one is kicking my ass hard; the DVD I burned at work doesn't want to rip. And here I thought that would be easier than going back to the S-VHS master!)

As a side note, the Platinum Pass ERT was last night for Maverick, and it ended up having a shorter line then during CM which was unexpected based on my experience with TTD last year. Got 4 rides in one hour, and they even kept the line open until 11:35 to make up for the fact that the ERT did not start till 10:35. Fun times had by all. Sometimes you just never know what was going to happen.
And really, while the Maverick ERT was a bit of a disapointment the rest of the weekend was awesome at CM. I wish I could have stuck around for Raptor ERT but I was so tired (and had already ridden it 2 times that day) that my bed was calling.
The funny thing is, I don't know who he is, let alone have I ever called him out by name in a podcast. I don't even remember what we talk about in those from week to week.
Seriously dude, don't flatter yourself, and watch your mouth.

I know, right? We're all a little annoying. It's part of our charm. ;)
But I will say that random outbursts like this one can really be amusing. It breaks up the monotony of normal, healthy conversation.
I say keep up the good work, "annoying one"! :)
