Just a reminder that, as we mentioned in this week's newsletter, that CoasterBuzz will be down for a few hours tonight as we make server upgrades.
UPDATE 9:40 pm EDT: The new hardware failed to work, so following the procurement of new parts, downtime will occur some time Saturday.
UPDATE 9/7/02 8:42 pm EDT: All new hardware installed and running. CoasterBuzz and club site appear to be fully functional.

Jeff if you have done the maintainance already, awesome
The site is flying, or maybe thats just because no one is on right now.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)
Doesn't it figure... new hardware appears to be DOA. Sigh. Perhaps tomorrow...

The best code is written under intoxication. Gota love faulty hardware. Bah. That reminds me, I need to make a trip to the co-lo to check the RAIDs.

Where do you work? Are you hiring? Where can I send my resume? ;)
Where I work we mainly do stuff for the DoD, so it probably wouldn't be wise to have one tied on when a General happened to come by.

What a gigantic pain in the ass this was. The first motherboard, as it turns out, had too many long pins under it, so they would touch the case, short, and therefore nothing would work. After trading for a better motherboard, everything went flawlessly and quickly, after two trips to Micro Pro.
All is well now, and this damn thing is SMOKING fast!

This is great news,it's good to have the buzz back up & running better than ever.
After all the trouble coasternet went through just trying to get back online I was a bit worried that there was gonna be a repeat performance here at coasterbuzz but not to worry, thankfully history didn't repeat itself. :-)
There is no trouble when you have a T-1. I'd run the site on the Gameboy if I had to. Heck, the other server with the CB affiliates, POP Forums, etc., never skipped a beat.

It was an ECS micro-ATX board. Not only did it have long pins but it didn't have all of the normal mounting holes, so it touched at those points as well. Steph and I both have ECS boards in our machines and they work fine.
