GeaugasViewWeb: Do you think I've got that kind of time to waste on playing favorites with parks? I'll set something up at any park that will talk to me, and for the record, Cedar Point does not do club-specific events. If you feel so strongly, why haven't you just deleted your account and gone away?
I still don't understand where the hostility comes from some of you. I wish there was something that silly I had time to worry about or be angry about.

Why pay for the ad-free site when you can download free software to fix that problem?
Because when you do so, you remove even the trickle of ad revenue that this site MIGHT get. Jeff CAN'T pay for all this out of pocket. If you don't want to pay for the site, that's fine, but the money has to come from SOMEWHERE. If nobody pays AND people bypass the ads, then there's no money to support this site, and therefore no site.
Why do so many people just not get this?

Forget the criticts, Jeff, this is one thing on the net I find worth paying for. After all, chipping in to support the site is the least anyone can do.

Anyone think it's funny that the people complaining have been here for less than half a year, and all the people supporting it are regulars? I guess some newbies just don't get it...

Noot all 14 year olds are stupid. I'm 14 years old and i think it is ridiculas to pay $20, or $2 a month for something that is free, but w/ advirtsments!
Alos, as stated above.. certainn 'buzzers' do bash Six Flags parks, but how many of you go and visit a Six Flags park? How many? I am sure all of you have and you just verbally bash the chain because it owns and operates so many parks.
Just because it doesnt have as much themeing as a Disney park has doenst mean its a bad park.. Just think about that
Keep up the good work!

I do understand. I just have other, better things I could spend $20 on, so why pay to basically remove ads when you can download something to do that for free?

With all due respect, that just makes you a freeloader. I quote from the Manifesto:

2. There is such a thing as a free lunch, but don't forget to tip your waiter.
6. All take and no give only works for a little while.
14. Don't expect us to do everything, all the time, anytime you want us to do it for you.
16. Free is not always free.
21. Which do you value more? Our services or an Extra Value Meal?
22. When you "cheat" the system, it hurts the giver more than it helps the taker.
26. Bandwidth is not free.
27. Nobody is forcing you to use our stuff.
38. We made a choice to do this, but we also have the right to change our minds.
46. Our business plan consists of one goal: be here tomorrow.
47. If we ever develop a "pay for" option, we'll have good reason to do so.
48. Even if we do develop a "pay for" option, you don't have to buy it.
59. Go ahead and call us "sellouts." You're wrong.
60. Take us for granted and soon there will be nothing left to take.
67. The advertising market has changed; we have struggled to remain the same.
69. This is a full-time job, whether we have another one or not.
You clearly find value in what you see here or you won't post or visit the site. Given that, why do you find it so easy to steal from me? That's essentially what you're doing.

We DO get it, GregLeg. But you guys need to get THIS.....not all of us have the time online to constantly close out pop-up ads, and/or visit those advertisers! I never click on pop-up ads. I don't waste my time, or effort, to go to a site that advertises something that 99.5% of the time offers something that I am totally not interested in. No offense to Jeff, but my opinion is that if you want to operate a website, you need to be prepared to fork out the money that it costs to run that site each month. I'm disgusted that I even have to close out pop-up ads I encounter when logging on to a major ISP - I'm already paying them $21.95 a month!
Also.. Jeff, thanks for all the hard work in making such a great site, and making that site even better. Now I don't yell at my computer nearly as much as I used to.

Now I DO take offense at THAT comment, Jeff - because it is the biggest bunch of horse manure I have ever read. Your logic is a little flawed....my ISP forces pop-ups on me, regardless of the fact that I pay them $21.95 per month. So how is THAT stealing from them, when I choose not to click on those ads? I'm ALREADY paying them. Plus, how DARE you make us feel guilty for visiting a site that you have FREELY chosen to create, and offer. If YOU want us to pay to visit your site, then you might as well make it a private members-only site, because I'll be darned if I will click on a stupid pop-up ad, and waste my time visiting an advertiser that offers a product I am not interested in. I have limited time online, and I am obviously wasting it right now by writing this - you won't see my point, I'm sure. So rest assured, this will be my final post in your website. You may delete my membership - in fact, I insist you do.
By the way, re-read 6, 27, 38, 48 and 60, then save your lecture about what I'm obligated to give you.
Good bye. It'll be a struggle, but I'm sure CoasterBuzz will go on without you.

ROLLERCOASTERS....BETTER THAN OXYGEN BABY!!!!!!
You guys can even gloat all you want about how smart you are in knowing that you can still access it for free.
But just remember this one thing: If those of us who felt it was worth the $20 to join hadn't done so, Jeff would have run out of money soon enough and then there would be NO Coasterbuzz at all. With coaster sites dying off faster than ever, there won't be many alternate choices left to go to.
So if you want my opinion on it all, you can either PAY UP or SHUT UP and enjoy what we are, in essence, paying for you to use.
