CoasterBuzz Club Fall Affair 2005 at Holiday World!

Jeff himself said in another thread that they're "back to square one" as it goes for folks with experience on wood coaster maintainance. Personally, I don't find it hard to believe.
Not to start a fight but I did do or was involved in almost every repair during my tenure, some were solo overnight jobs, one particular time I was working on the lake turn through the night-solo when one of the campers yelled across the lake asking me if I was ever going to be done,I yelled back soon, that was 4am,after finishing the repair I went and inspected the legend and worked my regular shift. No one during my tenure ever did this,I gave heart and soul to those coasters working seven days a week during my first three seasons, I inspected alone for almost the entire time.if you can find someone punched in on the clock to help me I'll give you an apology. No one wanted to learn the process,so they can find their way on their own.

Hi! :)

...wondering if I can afford Idaho, Indiana, and Pennsylvania trips three weekends in row...

A lot of us realize you put a lot of work into those coasters Jeff and moreso than anyone else. I posted earlier to note that your loss at the park was already noticed by both guests and enthusiasts. Many of us really appreciated your work and will miss you. Sorry about any individuals that don't give you the respect and recognition you deserve.

I think you've got the support of almost everyone around here that's ever been to Holiday World, Jeff. I know, personally, I've ridden wooden coasters with great layouts that fall short because of the obvious upkeep issues.

Until my first trip to Holiday World I never knew a wooden coaster could be so freaking smooth. It wasn't that I hadn't ridden any other good wooden coasters (Ghostrider and Screechin' Eagle come to mind right off the bat), I just had never ridden a ride that had been so well taken care of. A seasoned rider can tell the difference between a good ride that hasn't been taken care of and a good ride that has somebody's blood, sweat, and tears lubricating the track.

My hats off to you, Jeff.

Hey everyone;

The Raven and Legend are just fine. I'm at Holiday World multiple times each week and I always work in a few rides on the coasters and trust me if they were going down hill in a bad way I would know about it. Like Jeff told Holiday World's director of maintenance about me last year....."That's Paul. He knows these coasters as well as I do".

I guess I have been out of the loop with all my house-upgrades and wedding planning, but why did Jeff leave HW?
John Peck: I don't know if that's a fair question to ask, especially here. You know employers can't say a word about personnel issues to anyone and there may be some differences in opinion involved.

I think it's best if everyone abstained from that question. Next topic?

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

So we're the unofficial spokesman for Holiday World *and* its guests now Paul?

When last I checked, there was a one opinion per person limit. There's yours, thanks for playing.

+Danny

Now danny, you know people can't have their own opinion here. I thought you'd have learned that by now!

That line of discussion ends here. That's not open to debate.

The registration flyer has been posted:

Club members get first dibs up until 8/19, and after that, everyone else can register. Each club member may register one guest before then.

Speaking of mystery people, I want to see if Tomoko really exists. I don't know anyone that has actually met her. I thought maybe Rob was making her up.

Of course she exists! I have photos...and of all things, cookie cutters.

But why did all the snapshots turn out blurry? :)

23 BUCKS? Are you kidding me??! And all I get is park admission, dinner, and 2/5 hours of ERT?

What a rip-off.

I hope that was a joke, 2 and a half hours of ERT, dang, I wish I wasn't going to Vegas that same time, I would be there.

Anyone notice the Central time comment on the flyer, that just cracked me up seeing how many questions HW gets about their time schedule and what time zone they are in.

Not that I am trying to be a complainer - but I don't think pizza, chips and fudge fit this bill.

cyberdman

In that case, Yoink! There went your fudge!

Who wants his pizza?

What is so unhealthy about pizza? It's got all the food groups: Bread, meat, dairy and fruit (tomatoes are a fruit, ya know!). The potato chips are the vegetable!
