Chiller is opening soon!

I heard from Guest Relations that it's going to be open this weekend. I'm trying to convince my parents to allow me to take the bus. Hopefully the weather will be nice.
Supposed to open tomorrow and I'm gonna be there.

Let us know ASAP if it is open and 'working'. I'll make the 2 hour trip in a heart beat!
Sorry to disapoint you guys but I called guest relations today and thay said it's down this weekend and they seem to have no clue when it will open.
Just got back form the park. Chiller is not open. It had another rollback on Thursday and that is why it wasn't open.

80 coasters and soon to be more Life is a roller coaster Ride It

GREAT NEWS coming live from SFGAdv!! Chiller opened today at about 12:30! I was lucky enough to be the first person in the front, and IT IS AMAZING! There is absolutely NO flaws, totally smooth, and killer airtime throughout the tophat and 0g roll.

Come ride now! Parks open!

For those of you who don't believe that changing the wheels cannot effect the speed, here's an example. Look at Millennium Force. As I recall (correct me if I'm wrong) it opened with Poly Urithane wheels, and when running empty without weight, barely made it throughout the course. Later, these wheels were changed to the white colored Nylon wheels, and you could visually see a speed difference. For 2002, Millennium Force's white Nylon wheels have been replaced by the Poly Urithane wheels again, and the ride is running more slowly. The same thing occured with Raging Bull last year. It has always run with Poly Urithane, but last year they replaced several of the wheels with Nylon, and it was visually faster. Maybe changing the wheels to another set of the same material won't effect the speed, but changing the material sure can.

You are correct that nylon wheels make a coaster complete the course quicker than poly wheels.

However, Raging Bull just had its row 1 road wheels (the wheels on the top of the tubular track) replaced with nylon, and ONLY for the preseason colder temps. They were changed back midseason to the poly.

I really hope MF gets those nylon wheels back, there's definitely a difference.

About Chiller, glad to hear it actually opened Corey! Did you like Robin or Batman better with the lap bars?

Joe, Batman totally rocked my world! That tophat is amazing! Its all float in the front seat, and has acouple excellent visuals. The 0g roll backwards is so insane! It is so fast, and yet gives this amazing airtime that you'll have to see for yourself. By far the best Premier ever! :)

Poltergeist was noticibly slower after recieving the retrofit I noticed. The speed isn't horrifc however, and the pacing still works. The lapbars are the best thing that ever happened to the ride too.
I went to SFGAdv today (Wednesday) and I actually got to ride the Chiller. It didn't open until sometime in the afternoon. I stood in line for a while before I got into one of the individual row queues. With just 1 set of people in front of me, the ride breaks down. After it was down for a little
while, the 2 in front of me finally left the line. Now standing near the air gate, I looked down the launch track and saw that there was smoke possibly coming from the ride. Finally, they ran the train through 1 test run, and then we waited some more. Then, they let passengers board--after only 1 test run! I finally get to ride, and what a ride it is! While being launched down the track, I could smell a burning smell--possibly from what had happened on
the ride that caused that smoke I mentined above. Anyway, shortly after our ride, it breaks down again. I don't know if they ever got it back up or not, but unless they iron out these problems, don't get your hopes up for riding it soon. Also, 3 of Robin's cars were on its track--why not all 5, I don't know.
