Associated parks:
None
Yeah, I guess that's how I interpreted it, too. But if that's what he meant, then he's saying a track rail snapped, not a support, which would be more extreme and obviously didn't happen.

He also describes triangular three-rail track, for which Dragster has none.
People looked up to watch the dragster train approach the top and the AND NEVER MAKES IT OVER THE HUMP!! WTF??
Go away.

Well, tomorrow's Wednesday, and I'll make it over the hump.
Maybe next time you should add things like: ....and as the train descended backward toward the station, the screams and moans of the soon dead could be heard for miles.

new to the forum... and newly popped cedar point virgin....
Was able to get the park for the first time the first weekend of August... did TTD first off and loved it...
though on the sunday it ended up closing before we could get on it again.. probably around 6pm it closed... not sure if it was technical or perhaps they close it down early on sundays (yup i'm a n00b, too) ... but I'm pretty sure the upper winds were going at a pretty good clip too...
i guess if you're pushing the limits building the tallest/fastest (not anymore I realise) you're gonna have to deal with the limits of the coaster...
Canada needs more than Wonderland and the West Edmonton Mall. :/
First coaster ever (Other than the Ghoster Coaster at PCW... geezuz i'm already picking up the acronyms):
SPACE MOUNTAIN, Disney World. I was 8... and I was screaming in fear when I got off it, and every other ride through our 3-day visit to the grounds, I compared to Space mountain before I got on and refused to ride them... even all the epcot stuff... needless to say I was not a happy camper.
I think I avoided all things amusement-except for the odd Ferris Wheel or Strawberries ride at a carnival-until I was on a school trip in grade 8 to PCW... in which peer pressure put me on Dragon Fire, and from then on it was game over. I was hooked!
I've always wanted to come to Cedar Point and I finally had my chance...Loved it loved it... and i'm even trying to convince a friend of mine to come down again for BooBuzz!

"We're getting you OUT of the coaster", at 420'....someone was messin' with you... ;)
Oh, and like John-Michael said, there's no brakes at the top...

You weren't getting accurate information from whoever was telling you.
Let's start with what we know happens. If there's a problem with the ride, the trains get evacuated. Okay, that's about it so far. But let's keep going anyway.
What /could/ have been happening? Consistant rollbacks (did you actually see the train stopped at the top for more than a few seconds, mama?), breakdown, weather. (Anyone else have other options?)
Nobody has ever been evacuated from the top of Dragster and nobody ever will. In the extremely rare case where a train does happen to balance itself atop the tower, all it would take is a nudge from maintanance in either direction and it would either roll back or fly down the other side.
Also, through my experience, the maintainance guys don't usually talk to guests. I have, however, experienced times where the ride crew will simply make stuff up about what's going on because it's less boring than the standard "We're down due to technical/mechanical difficulties." Being down due to tech. diff. is always the /official/ reason for mechanical or technical reasons. Anyone who says otherwise or gives more detail than that could find themselves in trouble.
Anyway, whatever happened did result in your daughter being evacuated from the ride down at the ready position, but did not result in a train at the top getting evacuated. There were also no brakes that engaged at the top. The trains didn't need to be inspected to make sure the brakes were working as there are no moving parts- if the magnets are there, they're working.
