Seven riders were injured today on Shoot the Rapids at Cedar Point after a boat rolled back down a lift hill. The riders were treated at the park's first aid center. Six were released, but one was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center for further evaluation, and later released.

except for the absence of free neutrons.
Edit: Also, apparently Skyhawk is still down. This park is barely worth what it was charging in 2010 at this point. Seriously, why build rides that you can't fix quickly, especially with the capacity needs of the Point?
Do you really believe that CP is not worth the price of admission, or are you just being dramatic?

I'm going to go with dramatic. Because, "seriously," who builds rides knowing they're going to be hard to maintain?

I just found it funny (read: nonsensical) that the breakdowns of STR and Skyhawk, of all rides, have drastically reduced the value of the Cedar Point experience. With all that the park has to offer, the unavailability of those rides is an afterthought.

Value of the Cedar Point experience? Really? I was going a lot before moving, and I still think tickets and passes are too cheap. I always had plenty to do. If two in 70 rides are down, it's not the end of the world.

Dont even quote the one day price, because lets be honnest a large majority of us bought the $180 Platinum Pass; which continues to be a steal. Rides break down, and having 1-2 down is par for the course. It starts to become a problem when you get north of 4 large attractions (coasters, water rides, signature flats.)

Your not missing much with shoot the rapids down its an ok ride at most which i rode once and will probably never ride again. Skyhawk on the other hand is a great ride but its also made by S&S!
I was just there, and in addition to those two rides Maxair was down (would not find "home" and the wheel would constantly stop at a 10 degree angle off flat everytime,) MF couldn't run 3 trains to save its life (they would get one train up only for another to go down 10-15 min later,) and TTD was being its normal glitchy self. You know what, still had a great time. Was I disappointed that I missed Maxair and Skyhawk, you bet, but as others have said there is so much other things to do at CP.

I thought of it as a subtle jab at the boat semi-capsizing,
Wouldn't that have been a Heartline Roll?

Somebody on Pointbuzz mentioned that the chains had been removed when visited the park yesterday. Does anyone think that he meant the chains around the observation area or chains for the lift hill? Hopefully it's not for the lift hill because that means the end.
Hey I've been good about this for a while. What I mean is did they take the chain out of the lift hill? If they did, that could mean the end for Shoot the Rapids. If someone can confirm this, I swear I will shut up on here about Shoot the Rapids.
When I was at CP last weekend, I noticed the chain blocking the entrance to the observation deck had been removed. Hope this helps.
