Cedar Point to begin 2008 teasing?

http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm

Is Cedar Point about to begin their 2008 teasing tomorrow? What do you all think? A hole in the ground is generally something new, but not necessarily a new project.

That "hole" was turned in to a "parking lot" for the parade stuff. Don't get your hopes up for much more.

let's see, its out of the way, not really big and could be kind of secluded. I wouldn't be surprised if Escape from Dino Island went in this location...Something CP doesn't have, a 4d ride...

Intimidator 305 the tallest most hated coaster nobody has ever ridden...

oops. :)

I've edited it to remove text, but left the post intact so Dan's still makes sense. *** Edited 10/1/2007 4:01:35 AM UTC by Jason Hammond***

^umm, wrong forum dude...lol. ;)
what's in the background image of the blog? on the left hand side, right up against the window in the middle - it looks like a logo with some text above it. can anyone make it out?

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

I don't think I can take another 'what's going to be happening for 2008 at CP' thread. Quite frankly, I was so GREATLY disappointed with Maverick that I can remember saying to myself, "wow, what was all that about" after riding. You would think it was going to be the second coming of Jesus Christ by the way everyone was building it up.

Quite frankly, I had such a horrible time the last time I visited Cedar Point, what with overpriced and lousy food, and rediculously long lines, I COULDN'T CARE LESS what they're doing for 2008. I would rather go to Kennywood or simply sit at home on my deck than to go back there.

Edit: One more thing, did you read the CP Blog where Tony and Tyler talk about prople "going crazy" after seeing them at the Cedar Point parade? Talk about shameless self-promotion.... Don't get a "God Complex," guys. You are but a small cog in a vast, heartless corporation, not every teenage girl's fantasy! Oh my gosh, how amusing....... *** Edited 10/1/2007 2:50:12 AM UTC by ophthodoc***

Why would someone that can't take another 'what's going to be happening for 2008 at CP' thread read and post in a 'what's going to be happening for 2008 at CP' thread?

Enjoy your deck.

I don't know. Good point.

I guess even you can teach me something tonight, Neuski. Miracles never cease, huh?

I love people who are so self-important and positive of their elevated status telling others who won't ever see their comments and don't know you from a hole in the ground that they shouldn't get a "god complex" because they're so unimportant.

Who died and made you king?

Obviously your status has unfortunately robbed you of your short(ish) term memory, otherwise you - who has been around this site and therefore this hobby for a few years now - would already know that Cedar Point has had overpriced, lousy food and "rediculously" (sic) long lines since ... oh, I'd say 1989ish?

Brett, Resident Launch Whore Anti-Enthusiast (the undiplomatic one)
So if you worked for a company and helped promote it, you would call yourself a corporate cog instead of beefing yourself up? You already seemed to accomplish that in your post.

Anyway, I loved Maverick. And once again pointing out flaws in something great ;). *** Edited 10/1/2007 6:08:31 AM UTC by Hatham Al-Shabibi***

If you think things can't get worse it's probably because you lack sufficient imagination.

Who died and made you king???

Some people are so negative and argumentative around here lately. Seriously, why attack ophthodoc for giving his perspective?

Edited to provide clarity as to who I was actually talking about. *** Edited 10/1/2007 4:27:13 PM UTC by dexter***

It's just my perspective. You all don't have to share it.
Here is how I see it playing out:

In an effort to increase attendance and create a "buzz" about the park for 2008, they will build 2 new picnic pavilions, remove Dragster & Maverick and send them to other Cedar Fair parks !

Sounds like a good plan...

ophtodoc: I'd wager you are in the minority on Maverick. Most of the folks around here who have ridden it love it. And, the GP is just eating it up, even accounting for the first-year phenomenon.

Who thought Maverick was a big disappointment? Vote now.

I did, my dad did, my brother did, and so did Pat from Walk in the Park. That's five. Woo hoo! *** Edited 10/1/2007 2:22:40 PM UTC by Spinout***

I quite enjoyed Maverick... lived up to the hype in my view.
My family of four had a great time on it. As my daughter put it: Mystery Mine had better "stuff to look at", but Maverick had "a better track."

We don't wait in line for it, and only ride it first thing in the morning, but that's because we don't wait in line for anything, anywhere, anytime.

Count me in as a person who doesn't think Maverick is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm not saying that it sucks or is merely mediocre, it is still a good ride but not one that I would pick to ride over and over again. It is too intense to the point where it is not fun for me for 2 or more consecutive rides. I guess I'm a fan of the regular sit down, floor-ed roller coasters that feature big hills, airtime, and speed.

That would only work if they were trying to turn Cedar Point into a "family park" . . . ;)
