Cedar Point to begin 2008 teasing?

^I agree I was also dissapointed with Maverick, just too much head banging for a new coaster. The only good parts are the first drop and the launch through the tunnel. As i said in previous threads they should spend money on the park itself instead of adding another overpriced attraction!
I thought it was a mixed bag. The 'transitions' into the ground-hugging curves were Toomeresque, the launch left me scratching my head and wondering why, but otherwise, there was a hell of a lot of good stuff in the bag, too.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

Personally, I think Maverick is awesome. Great launches, nice 95 degree drop, the inversions were smooth, some good airtime, great hugging to the ground and I never experienced any head banging. Lots of fun without being the next 'est of anything.

I guess I'm a fan of the regular sit down, floor-ed roller coasters that feature big hills, airtime, and speed.

Which is exactly why Cedar Point added Maverick. They already have other rides for fans of your type of ride.

Don't get your hopes up for much more.

Agreed. At most, if it IS a ride, it will just be a clue.

I was so GREATLY disappointed with Maverick that I can remember saying to myself, "wow, what was all that about" after riding. You would think it was going to be the second coming of Jesus Christ by the way everyone was building it up.

That's no one's fault but your own. In fact, Jeff knew what the ride was, and repeatedly mentioned (OK, so he mentioned it once but people tried to dissect it for some reason) that "enthusiasts" would probably be disappointed.

The most ironic thing about your statement is that Cedar Point did virtually NOTHING to build hype for Maverick. It was all done here....in this little box....and all of about 300 people in the entire world were hyped for it. The other billion people in America didnt even know (or care) that Cedar Point was building anything. So please, dont try to make it sound like Cedar Point built up this melo-drama that you happened to get caught up in.

You are but a small cog in a vast, heartless corporation, not every teenage girl's fantasy! Oh my gosh, how amusing

I see your cog is as big as mine.......

I don't think I can take another 'what's going to be happening for 2008 at CP' thread.

Luckily we all have the option of not clicking on it. :)

Guilty as charged... You know, it's kind of like seeing a bad train wreck - you know you shouldn't be staring but some part of you does anyway as a purely reflex action.

Now, with all that out of the way, could I please just cross the bridge now?
Q. Why is CP digging a hole in the ground?

A. They have to put all those "Save Geauga Lake" petitions and letters somewhere don't they? :)

OhioStater's avatar
Yes. But first you must answer my questions three.

What is your name?

Naw. If they wanted to stash all those "Save Geuaga" items, they'd just hire a boat and dump them in Lake Erie, near Toledo. They wouldn't notice the trash over there.

I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!

They could keep piling them up to keep Magnum from sinking any further.

"What is your quest?"

Ummm, so what is the new clue? And "what is your favorite color?"

We’ll keep you on track with our plans for the 2008 season as soon as we’re ready to let the kittens out of the bag.

Deliberate choice of words, no?

I agree... some sort of kitten bagging attraction similar to the corn hole experience at GL. Hmmm.....
