OMFG!

I am simply amazed at everything about this ride, the cars are absolutely awesome looking and the launch.. old Hypersonic just won't feel the same.

I was thinking of going to E3 this May instead of CP, but this video whipped me around 180 degrees.. Ohio.. here I come!!!

Nice, I knew Cedarpoint would not let us down. I never douted them for one min. Well looks like I need to book my room at the breakers for some this season.
Didn't even have "Draggie" in it but I just wanted to say that CP did a great job with the video in the "highlights" section. That back-and-forth with Mantis and MF was an awesome shot. Made every single ride and coaster that got into it look like the ultimate thrill ride ... even Iron Dragon! They had a lot of time to work on this and thehy certainly did it right! (wonder if I'm in any of those shots? ;) )

Just don't be stupid. It's really not that hard.

It's fast, It's furious, It's what I'll be riding all summer long!

Take it up a notch, Mr. Operator! I wanna feel my brains in my feet!

I am amazed. This is even better than I thought it would be. My guess on the six trains thing is that perhaps there will be two loading and two unloading continuously.

Jeff thought that we would not like the name. I kinda like it. I thought that it would have the 57 Chevy front hoods like Xcelerator, but these are even better.

There is a new twist in the Top-Hat. :)

Congratulations to CP for this world record breaking coaster. 6 trains - wow! 120mph and 420ft - wow! It seems like a bold move to do such a short but outrageous coaster and I knd of respect them for that.

I like the name, which will surely end up being referred to as simply 'Dragstar' by enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike.

In the interview, it is said that they started planning Dragstar just after MF opened; does this mean that WT was indeed a 'filler coaster' as many people believe? Of course at the end of the day it doesn't matter whether it was a 'filler' or not, just that its a good ride.

Someone should dig up some old dragstar threads that would now make some of the posters look a little, err, 'misinformed'!

Finally, surely this is the most hyped ride ever, and the most talked about before opening ride ever.

i love the name of this ride! its got an old school feel to it. looks sweet and we got a new word for it " strata" coaster. sounds better than " tera" to me.

Wow, seeing as today just happens to be my birthday, I have to say that this is the best birthday gift anyone could've given to me.

Personally, I think it's a wonderful move by CP to make the coaster themed and short. That way, in the long run, Dragster serves as to highlight MF et al, and not mask them.

The ride looks great, and the trains are incredible. Maybe for my next Birthday Chris Sawyer will anounce RCT3:Cedar Fair Edition!

Hydraulic launch?? Is that a first? Havent heard of that before. Aircraft carriers use steam catapaults. Of course their are LIMS, but hydraulic launches?? Is that another 1st??

There are six trains because, in order to meet capacity, they've gotta get one launched every 40 seconds.

DELETED!

No,Xcelerator uses the same launch as well. ;)

Jeff if they launch every 40 seconds. Isn't more than one station necessary?

Chuck, who has only seen SOB dispatch in that amount of time and some SRM pre PTC on legend dispatches.

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

YES! I can't wait for my next visit to CP. Are you sure the ride is over 400 feet though? ;)

The Capacity will not matter one bit if the ride has 80% downtile like xcelerator has had on some days. Say your prayers.... I love that animation, i love the train (Xcelerator's were rumored to look more like this, with 2 seats on the front and back cars), I love the speed, height, theming for CP, and the idea of 6 trains (it looks in the photos that 4 are outside of the station at once, and the ride's about to double stack though.

Xcelerator's launch is still 20% more intense because its only 2.3 seconds in length.

Let's not get into the argument of which rocket coaster is better...

I personally love it (mostly the trains!)! My only concern is... how in the world am I going to get my boyfriend to ride that when I could just BARELY get him to ride MF. (Although as it turned out he was fine on MF and I'm the one who was scared to death on the lift hill and left him with bruises on his arm from me holding on to it too tight!)

Hah, ONN called it "Top Speed Dragster".
I'm really wondering that myself too. I mean, think of all the people who will chicken out, the height requirement is more than milenium force (Xcelerator is like 52"), and it has a launch and vertical drop. Even the lack of |OTSRs scare a lot of people. I know on Xcelerator, the line's ALWAY short (which means the 700phph capacity is acceptable), no matter the day or how long Ghostrider's line is (Ghostrider could be 2 but Xcelerator 20 minutes). But when you get a group of thrillseekers, and a lot of them, such as the Haunt Crowd, lines can get long. So many people chicken out from the sway of the towers or the unsopported track length, but that is best viewed after you've ridden and are on the turnaround so most people don't see it. Now, why 6 trains? Wouldn't 5 be enough? I would think so, cause it looks in the picture as if it is about to triple stack once the train on the tower comes down, or at least double stack. And with the intense airtime I wonder if they are going to put the restraints on Themselves. That would suck. Also would suck: Major downtime, although on Xcelerators usually don't take up 100% of the day (usually its like 1pm-6pm, its like clockwork), that would suck too, and might mean that Freeway or whatever its called will not be used. I wish all those flames on the train were real.....
I COULDN'T BE MORE THRILLED with this newest addition to Cedar Point's already impressive coaster lineup. I heard Janice Witherow on the radio this morning talking about the new coaster - the jag offs that were hosting the radio show were talking more about it than she was and I was saying "shut the F--- up so I can hear all about it!!!!!"

After logging on to the TOTALLY AWESOME Cedar Point website, I caught a glimpse of the trains, and all I can say is that I CAN DIE NOW, with 100% satisfaction that I've seen the best there is to see. This outrageous design exceeds even my highest hopes. And the speed --- ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY (YES, TWENTY) MILES PER HOUR --- it's kind of like learning that you've just won the lottery. 42 stories, eh? That'll teach the Japanese for coolly erecting their Steel Dragon 2000 and just narrowly dethroning Millennium Force, arguably the best coaster ever built in world history.

Now, Cedar Point has the tallest and third tallest coasters in the world, plus fourteen others. SFMM, bring it on! You'll never beat out Cedar Point, the most dynamic and exciting place ever created by humankind. Every year I keep saying to myself "HOW ARE THEY EVER GOING TO OUTDO THEMSELVES NEXT YEAR?" and, I must admit, after Millennium Force, I surely thought the best had been made at Cedar Point. I sure can be myopic in my views at times.

Okay, I'm going to get some work done now, but I just wanted say that this is the most momentous occasion since man set foot on the moon.
