Lyrically, I'm supposed to represent
I'm not only a client, I'm the playa president!
TTD and MF aren't the same coaster? Whaddaya mean by that? I want PROOF!
I just got back on the forum after a night of real life and still hadn't realized CPimh and Sean F. were talking about two different rides when I was last on. (Aside to subscribers of Days of Our 'Playa: Nothing that interesting...but every day before it was. I gotta get you caught up.)
Sure, Da Poodle's post prior to my last notes the difference, but I didn't catch that at all. But how could you miss a shot at an African-American Roller Coaster flash card joke? Can you say Obvious punch line?
Sean F: Sorry about getting CPimh's and your TR mixed up. I'm gonna be honest and say that if a guy had been in the TTD queue and submitted a TR, I would have had the exact same opinion. Same opinion I've had for years. Some of you early 'Playa fans may remember when I debated much the same thing with GRP! after the debut of their Discovery channel broadcast (who was the guy that was most upset? Can't recall his name now) on URC. He could see my point.
I think I've only ever had one other CBuzz regret--and that would be with supermandl. Long, long ago we debated the Stratosphere project, it spilled over into e-mail and I few things I said went below the belt. Sorry dude.
If I had any deep regrets about yesterday, I'd have to say it would be to a user who I won't name here. Among the very few folks I keep regular contact with are a couple of young women who don't realize how beautiful they really are. One of them was talking to me about something that deeply troubled her and I'm typing silly stuff here when she needed my help. Honey, I'm so sorry. It won' t happen again.
Okay, move along. Nothing to see here. Show's over.

First of all, I should tell you how I fit into this story. I was the guy in the navy blue CP hoodie that was standing next to CPImh in line for the last train of the evening... the one with the 6 friends at the freeway checkpoint that wouldn't move.
In any case, we did count numerous times, and we WOULD have had the correct number of people, and I don't blame anyone that wanted the last car. I think it was because of the people who had to be taken out of the front seat line... that put us over the limit. But I digress.
While it would have been cool to have the last ride of the season on MF, it's not the end of the world that I didn't get it. I was there with 7 other high school students and I will be the first to admit that a few of them were a bit immature about things, but I tried my hardest to keep myself in line. I did not yell at any of the employees nor did any member of my party. The employees had little or nothing to do with the ordeal and they didn't deserve blame.
It's not the end of the world, and I think this whole situation might have escalated a bit too far. I call things like this "teen drama" at my high school, but I think a general term of "drama" would be more important here. There were some hurt feelings, and yes, I was disappointed, but I was over it about 2 seconds after we got off the train.
I think, however, that both parties have directed some bitterness at the other side. It is true, yes, that my friends and I stood at the FreeWay gate and we reluctant to move, however I also noticed that the folks who came in afterwards also stood their ground and would not pass us, so I really don't think you can be so critical of our unwillingness to move when you were doing the same thing.
I must agree with CPImh that the lady who stopped to tell us we had no chance was a bit rude, but that didn't bother me so much as the employee (or former employee) that was standing at the entrance complaining about what a ****hole the park was, just because she had just processed out and the park couldn't reprimand her. I thought that she was acting a bit inappropriate, but again, not the end of the world.
Of course I'm sad that I put off marathoning MF so I could get the SECOND to last ride of the season, but I bet it gave just about the same amount of thrill as the last ride. I'm going to go ahead and apologize on behalf of anyone in MY party that may or may not have made asses of themselves. It was a great year at the Point and I certainly wasn't going to let a miscommunication/situation over which I had no control ruin it for me.
All's well that ends well, right?

I'm not sure, but I am pretty sure that most of those who were waiting for the front were loaded into the train before ours. There was one pair for the front seat and one pair went to the back for the last seat and I think that the rest of the train was ours. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. Who cares.
Maybe I'll run into you next summer Jeff, maybe you'll have your summer job by then. Good luck.

What if Brent was a black man and said the exact same thing? Would make it any diffrent?
Socially appropriate my ass. Words are just that. Words. It's all about the context and the user. Was there any hate in Brent's post? Absolutely not. 'Playa seems to understand, why can't you?
