You think that was bad? You shoulda seen Matthew and I come to blows over who got to close out N:TOP for the season! It was quite the knock-down, drag-out fisticuff.;)

OMG! I can't believe you said that. I knew my ears were burning for a reason. LOL! Robo, you have your chance next Wednesday, right? ;)

Between Dill pickles and Donuts, my secret awaits.

So you didn't opt out of that unimportant 'last ride' for that 'something deeper' why?

Somebody crack open a window--it's gettin' all self-righteous, high and mighty in this piece!

You already got the last ride. You already raved about how much you loved it. You already both saw it as some sort of privilege or there wouldn't have been anyone saying anything to anyone. Do you have to urinate on them here too?

bholcomb, There was a line that formed at the entrance of people who wanted the last ride. The line slowly grew as we waited and we kept count. If you were there and saw what was going on, you should have entered our little line and been counted. If you would have done that, then the people entering later could have been told that the last train was allready full and turned away.

Question, if it was childish of us who were in line first for the last ride of the night not to move along from the freeway merge point, was it not also childish of your "johnny come lately" group to stand there and not walk past us.

I have no problem with ride ops taking a spin on it. I am sure that they do it from time to time. I hope that CP let them ride it all night long for that mater. The two girs who were going to sit in front of my sister and I were CP employees and they waitede for the last train. They worked hard all summer long and deserve it. They were also waiting in our group and were being counted for the last train.

I just thought that it would be neat to have the last GP ride of the year and I waited for it and I was one of the first in line waiting for it. It wasn't about bragging rights or anything, I just thought that it would be neat. Like I said, never again.

It was obvious that the ride ops knew your little group or at least members of your group and they catered to you and that is what pissed me off the most, and obviously everyone else on our train.

Once again. I was asked to stay.

"Somebody crack open a window--it's gettin' all self-righteous, high and mighty in this piece!"

Agreed. Please know someone before making false comments about them

"You already got the last ride. You already raved about how much you loved it. You already both saw it as some sort of privilege or there wouldn't have been anyone saying anything to anyone."

Being able to see the plaque presentation was a privelege. Being able to ride with someone that didn't think he would be able ride coasters again was a privilege. THAT's why I was there. One more time. The last ride was a bonus to the evening.

"Do you have to urinate on them here too?"

What is that supposed to mean?

I was standing in that line outside the entrance just like you. I was right next to the test seat wearing the redwings jacket. I hadn't ever talked to anyone I had the last ride with before 7:30 that night. The fact of the matter is, you all entered the line before us - the people that got the last ride were the ones who were there first and were lined up on the inside along the makeshift queues. We waited for everyone who showed up AFTER us to get in line. Seriously, though... I didn't (and still don't) know any of the ride ops, and the only person in line I even KNEW OF was Tony.

Rob, next Wed is for sure!

-Robo, feeling bad about the fact no one fought over the last ride of the season on RWRB. :(

24 and Alias; taking incredulousness to giddy new heights!

My sister and I were the fifth and sixth person standing along the makeshift queue. I was in the camo jacket. If you were the one standing between the test seat nad the ride op, you were being counted. I truely do not remeber anyone else standing next to the test seat. There was a little boy sitting in the test seat, but no one else that I remember standing next to it. Still, how do you go from a count of 26 to a count of 33 or 34. We had 20 people in the line waiting to get in and the person in front of me had 6 friends waiting at the freeway merge point. That's 26 when the ride op said theat the line was closed. The person standing in front of me and his six friends were also forced onto the second last train, so don't give me the BS that those waiting first got the last ride!

It's not a witch hunt. Life will go on.

I was probably standing right next to you, though. We just didn't start walking up the entrance until we were completely sure they had closed off the entrance, when everyone else had already gone up it. I know I was counted. There wasn't anyone extra added, they just didn't count correctly.

This is really pointless, though. Does it *REALLY* matter?

Hey Playa - lay off. Sean is one of the very few enthusiasts I've spent any amount of time with, and I can say from that time that I don't think he has a selfish, vindictive or enthusiasstic bone in his body.

I counted a few times. I'm 6'4", I could have missed one or two people, but not seven or eight.

Thank you everyone for illustrating exactly the reason why I didn't even bother going in the park Sunday.

The only people who deserve the last ride on anything are the people who slaved for the summer over the machine to give your sorry asses a ride.

I swear, every year it gets more embarassing to be a part of this community.

What time does the water show start?

Sean F: Nobody has to know you, only how to read. I'm talking about what's clear and evident to anyone with an attention span who read the TRs.

CPimh: Frankly, I think you're all rather silly...and by 'all' I include the rideops that arranged this little ceremony and took it on themselves to make private invites at a park open to the public. I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy of this silly affairs so-called victors.

Beyond that, I hope policy is revised so next year's brilliant rideops finance their private, on-ride parties with their bonus checks. They could have presented this plaque anywhere. Enough of the favorites already.

Maybe they were not all ACErs, I just made that assumption because of the ACE jacket and the way they all grouped together while the ops forced us into the train and left them alone.

Couldn't agree with you more. That's why I'm glad the last ride turned out how it did, with all the ride-ops getting on with us.

And only 1 was an ACER as far as I know. He wasn't snotty.. he didn't throw a fit.. he didn't act childish.. He was a really nice guy.

There was no reason for him to be upset, the ride ops were bending over backwards for him!

Actually, I think he meant the ride ops, and only the ride ops.

If that's the case then where exactly did I say that I truly wanted the last ride? I won't admit something that I never wanted in the first place.

"They could have presented this plaque anywhere. "

This is true, but the PARK did it their way. Period. This reminds me of what happens when people don't get invited to media events. Usually the first thing I hear about that is, "That's not fair. I am not invited". So who is the blame for that? Enthusiasts that are invited by the park?

Without making this into a yelling match, let me ask you this Playa. What would happen if you happend to get offered the last ride? Would you take it?

Also, Jeff, I agree. The only people that deserved the last ride are the ride operators. No one else deserved that include those that were on it. Too bad you weren't there on closing day. Despite the theatrics of what went on at closing, the day was great.

While the behavior of people acting up at the end of the season won't scare me away from missing closing day in the future, I simply won't be whoring any last season rides. I think the point I was trying to make was proven here in this thread.

Hopefully those that did the arguing last weekend will stay far away from PKI this Sunday.

I understand why people would give up 3 rides in a row for the last ride, and if you' don't then you're stupid.

Millenium Force turns left out of the first drop on the last ride of the night. There's even a cobra roll on the last ride of the year. *rolls eyes* Duh.

Anyone climbing on Sean F. needs to meet him before they accuse him of anything. It's one thing to lay claim to your domain of Mr. Pimp of the Coasterbuzz forums, but unless you've met him and found out what an incredible human being he is (regardless of coasters) then keep your trap shut.

Your example has nothing to do with anything. This is neither here nor there. This happened in the park during hours the park was open to the public.

It's inappropriate for the same reasons 25 people in tuxedos or a wedding party or anyone else who's particularly distracting isn't appropriate...it creates the appearance that Person X or group X is preferred over Person Y, Group Y or everyone else in the park.

It's the same reason ERT is only held before or after public hours instead of during them, for that matter. Did it ever occur to you why that's the case?

A policy consistent with every other operating policy would dictate some event like this never happens again.
