Cedar Fair to buy SFWoA

The year before the high back seats were put on Blue Streak, I witnessed multiple incidents of people sitting, or trying to sit, on the top ledge of the car. Most of the time the ride ops saw the person on the lifthill and stopped the lift. You can bet it was directly because of this rider behavior that the trains were modified. I can't say I blame them.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I never said anything about Blue Streak, Gene. I would've liked it better the old way, too, but Pete's right... it was too easy for stupid people to do stupid things.

And in this day and age a court is going to expect you to be able to anticipate that stupid people will do stupid things (ie spilling hot coffee on one's lap) so it is on the park's shoulders to take every conceivable effort to prevent accidents when the stupid people act.

I can't wait for air bags on coasters.

Air bags and roofs on the cars. :)

Cedar Point attracts more people than most parks with a classic coaster, and when you have that many people you can bet a good percentage of them are stupid, and will do stupid things.

Well, not to be a stickler, but the percentage is probably about the same. When it's put over that many people, that's just more opportunities to fail.
