Hmm you guys, by the way of what Chuck is hinting at and the notice of the CCI building signs all of a sudden mysteriously gone; it sounds like something major is about to happen.
This could prove to be a very interesting end of the season! Let's see what happens.....

Off to CP in August, Hopefully off to two other parks in July though!! YEA!!!! :-D It will be a good summer!

I'm not going to believe anything until I hear official news, but my unenlightened gut feeling tells me things may not be looking good for CCI. While they may not be in financial trouble now, I could see them (or any wooden coaster manufacturer) looking ahead and realizing that parks (especially large ones) have one or two woodies and really don't see the need to add more due to all the variety steel can bring. In other words, I could understand if they called it quits while they were still ahead. I've always wondered how GCI could stay afloat with even less projects that CCI. The funny thing is, I'm actually laughing at the fact that I'm enough of a "Coasterdork" to be saddened by the mere thought of this happening...

It's 106 miles to Indiana Beach. We've got a full tank of gas and a half-full cooler of cokes. It's light, and we're wearing Disaster Transport 3-D glasses....hit it!

GCI has been diversifing itself over the last few years to keep their profits stable. They did 4 or 5 retracks so far this year and their woodie maintenance training team has been staying VERY busy sharing some of that GCI woodie maintenance love :)
They should be able to stay afloat in this economy fixing other companies mistakes (like Coasterworks)

WCUSA-The World's largest theme park is coming!
Theme parks will NEVER be the same!
Hmmm.. An interesting claim. The fact that the internet site is down normally wouldn't mean much to me, but at this point, I have suspicions that it could add up to something big. Particularly with what Jeff said recently about bad news coming.
All I can say is that I hope this won't happen, but I have a very bad feeling about this...
well, i looked for every CCI page, nothing, tryed entering URL FTP listings, nothing, tryed to send an e-mail to CCI, (cciwebmaster@yahoo.com, from WHOIS), nothing, it said this: 554 delivery error: dd Sorry your message to cciwebmaster@yahoo.com cannot be delivered. This account has been disabled or discontinued [#102]. -...
This isn't good, not good at all!
The first thing I do when a site is a good old whois search. Well, that is pretty surprising that the nameservers are none other than POP World Media.
Well, Jeff, I just hope that you're either giving the hosting for free, or charging them a ridiculously overpriced amount.
Trust me, if a company goes into bankrupcy of any kind, the last thing on their mind is to pull down the website.
It probably isn't a down server - Jeff, being responsible for the hosting, knew ages ago, and getting the server up would have been his number one priority (unless the downtime was caused by a stray waterhose in the office, in which case, it is probably second :)). They may be launching a new site, or new features of some description. If for instance, they are looking at more introducing more dynamic features, it does often require site downtime to get everything into place.
Maybe they forgot to pay their bills to POP, and they've had to be taken down until they pay.
I wouldn't be too worried about one of the world's current most popular coaster building firms in financial difficulties... not just yet, anyway.
Still, it is amazing how well Jeff's comments about bad news coming, has worked. Not that it isn't true of course. Of the fun Jeff could have, if he wanted (to loose all his credibility and dignity).

So what if the best coaster in Australia is a second hand Arrow?

I have heard it has been an official announcement from a few friends and seen a bit from it. A very very sad day for coaster enthusiasts...
This is what has been posted on rec.roller-coaster...
It was announced yesterday (7/17/02) that Custom Coasters has decided to
close their operations. Custom Coasters has designed and built over 40
coasters in the last 7 years and currently has 7 of the top 10 rated
Wooden Roller Coasters in the world. In a statement from Denise Dinn,
President and Founder of Custom Coasters, she cited personal reasons for
this decision related to her current divorce situation. Denise stated
that she is leaving her options open for a future in the industry, and
further added that she hopes to associate with a major manufacturer in
the industry to form a personal alliance for future projects.

I actually do think that CCI is "closing up shop" after reading what Oolov posted. But is better to stop now while your ahead, and CCI will always been considered one of the greatest wooden roller coaster companies.
Then again, this could all be pure speculation... At least, I can only hope. Theres still some parks that could use a nice new CCI!
I hope I'm not reading this correctly.
Time passess...
Guess I read it correctly. #$@%&^^!!!!

I'm hearing you, PerrysburgGuy........
and I'm hoping that Will's "half-in-jest" comment re: companies involved with SF doesn't prove true.....certainly hasn't done much good for Arrow, or Gio, or Vekoma.....

The Beast and Night, They go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly
I heard through the grapevine quite sometime ago that CCI's future was not looking good.
They lost a MAJOR contract with SF and in the present do not have a lot to keep them going.
However most significantly, there are personal issues within the ownership/leadership at CCI that could likely end with the business either splitting or closing.

You silly dude, your'e only food, for the DEMON"
....*thinking*....(hey, I'm allowed to speculate)....that if we get more guys like Jeff H. "out in the field" actually working on the pre-existing woodies, I'd be happy to have more GOOD coasters and fewer being built....
DId I actually just say that? You all know by now that I am ALL for more wooden coasters, but I don't need that many if the ones out there already ran more like those in IN.....
